Easily the worst apartment complex I have yet to live in. You can find apartments with comparable prices that are better maintained in the area and I can't genuinely recommend enough that you do not move to Brixton. Poor infrastructure paired with the most unhelpful maintenance workers and office staff means I was forced to contact the city of McKinney when my AC was out for almost a month during the summer, and only then was the issue resolved when the city reached out to them. Please do not move here and notice that all the positive reviews are from people who don't live here yet and were asked to leave a positive review when they toured or when they signed the lease.

I had a terrible move out experience with this complex. I was working with leasing agent Shamika who was great at first, she was very responsive and helpful up until the day I delivered my final check. To preface, I did make a mistake on my final check and wrote one that was for .15 cents instead of .75 which resulted in a .60 cent remaining balance. Shamika called me about 20 mins after I dropped the check off to let me know and she told me I had to get a new check as they couldn't post partial payments. I offered to swing by again later with a dollar or if I could make the remaining .60 payment online. She told me now, and demanded I get a check for the correct full balance. I asked to speak to a manager and got transferred to Ashley. Ashley repeated what Shamika had told me, but she agreed to post the first check if I brought in a second check for the remaining .60. I asked her if there was any way they could please let me pay another way so I wouldn't need to get another cashiers check and drive all they way back and she told me no and that if I wanted to pay online I should have paid by the last day I was eligible which was 12/20. I informed her that I had emailed Shamika back on 12/8 that my balance was not showing online and she told me at that time that they had already adjusted the balance off the portal and I would need to make the payment in person, despite her previously emailing me on 11/21 saying I could pay online by 12/20. Ashley blatantly lied stating that I could have paid online until 12/20 and tried shifting the blame for the current situation on me. Her tone was overly polite to the point it was rude and condescending and I reiterated that I had written communication with Shamika proving the entire timeline to which Ashley insisted there wasn't a problem and that even if there was it wasn't something she could correct on her end. I let her know I would bring the remaining payment and h/up before I got more heated. Personally, I feel like .60 is a rounding error that could be adjusted off as a courtesy for someone who lived there almost 4 years. Or that someone with more knowledge or capable of correcting the system could have gotten involved to help me better. I did get another check from my bank for the .60 cents and delivered it and they have since confirmed my account is closed. I understand that I made a mistake but I was treated very poorly and rudely by their team who instead resorted to blaming me and outright lying about what was communicated between myself and them. If this is the standard of a WWC community then I doubt I will find myself living in another one anytime soon.
