  Clayton Homes of Lufkin – Solid Experience After a Rough Start Elsewhere My journey with Clayton actually started with the Lufkin location, but I originally chose to buy from a different dealership instead. That turned out to be my biggest mistake. Without getting into all the details, that experience was bad enough that they ultimately took the home back. So I returned to Clayton Homes of Lufkin hoping for a better outcome — and that ended up being the right decision. My salesperson, Richard, was helpful and responsive throughout the process. I also came in with a lot more knowledge after my first experience, so I understood the process better and didn’t feel completely lost this time around. Lufkin ordered a brand-new home for me, and a couple of months later it was delivered. I used my own contractor for the remaining work, and once everything was completed, I scheduled a home inspection. I strongly recommend getting a home inspection — not because of the dealership, but because of the factory. No matter where a home comes from, it’s always smart to have it checked. It’s also important to be realistic: a mobile home will almost always have some issues after delivery. That’s just part of moving an entire house down the highway. What really matters is how the dealership handles those issues — and so far, Clayton Homes of Lufkin has met their responsibilities. Some of the issues on my list were minor enough that many people might have just brushed them off or fixed them themselves. But for me, there was a personal point to be made — I paid a lot of money for this home, and I fully expected to receive what I paid for. And to their credit, the Lufkin dealership has worked with me on those items. As of this writing, the only remaining issue is a front door that appears to have been damaged either before installation or during transit, and I have no doubt they’ll take care of it. I also plan to keep updating this review throughout my warranty period based on how issues are handled going forward — because at the end of the day, that follow-through is what really matters to me and most consumers. Overall, I absolutely recommend this dealership. Not all Clayton dealerships are managed the same, and that difference matters. After seeing both sides of that firsthand, I’m glad I came back to the Lufkin location.
