I wanted to take a moment to express how much I truly loved living at Whitlow Apartments here in Lewisville. From the very beginning, the team has always been incredibly attentive and supportive. Anytime I’ve had a question or needed help, someone was quick to respond and made sure everything was taken care of. That level of care really makes a difference and has made me feel valued as a resident. The community itself is welcoming and well maintained, and it’s clear that a lot of thought and effort goes into making Whitlow Apartments such a great place to live. I genuinely appreciate how consistent, kind, and attentive everyone has been :)

I moved to this property when it was about 6 months old. It did seem nice at first, then major issues began happen getting worse as management seemed to lack interest in resolving issues. I must say that Success the management assist seemed to take more care in resolving issues than management before I left in November 2025. She actually knew more than the so-called new manager Nicholas who didn't even know what basic residential forms were at the time of move out. I had to tell them what they were. He was reluctant to do a walk through of my apartment and my rented garage. It seems that Whitlow has a reputation adding erroneous fees and sending the bill to collections which in turn ruins credit. It has happened to me too! I only had holes in the wall for putting up my flat screeen TV. My final bill sent by Whitlow was $16,000 which will be escalated for final resolution. There was a loss of use of internet speed for months and continued to be slow threating the loss of a contract that I had, loss of use of my balcony due to Steel Plant dust/pollution and wasps nests the size of 2 grapefruits with 100's of wasps, damaged patio furniture from the plant dust and pollution, loss of sleep due to plant noise for the entire lease term. Whitlow leasing agents hid the fact that there is a Steel Plant right next to the apartments. I lost months of sleep due to big rig trucks and tools banging in the night! I developed sleeping issues due to my sleep being broken in the middle if the night on the constant basis. They did not offer any type of compensation. You can verify noise complaints by the call logs with the Lewisville Police Department. They once told me that they got hundreds of complaints from residents within just a week. Just imagine for months on end. ROACHES were at the poolside and I also found two big sewer sized roaches at my entry way and 1 in my bathroom. They aren't spraying the hallways and bushes on the regular basis to stop this from happening. In addition to that, this property allows aggressive and large breeds of dogs. A pitbull lounged at me when I was getting off the elevator in two seperate cases with two different dogs. When it happened to my daughter in May, I reported it to Schyler and never ever got a follow up call back even though I gave all details and it was on camera Bldg 2, Basement Level 1 Main Elevator. It is unsettling that a resident has to be cautious getting on/off elevators due to your neglience of letting fierce breeds of dogs such as pitbulls, cane rossos, and other unfavorable breeds allowed on property for economic gain while residents and visitors have to take precautions daily. In addition to safety concerns, the entry and car gates are always broken along with some property elevators. This property is over priced and poorly built. There was also water coming in from my balcony and seeping up the floors due to plumbing issues. All of the BAD REVIEWS are the TRUTH! None of us have taken time out of our busy lives to warn you for no reason! Stay clear if this property! There are many other better choices. I have pictures everything that I stated. Management has them as well. Somehow, I can't upload them. The sizes are large.

Our experience at The Whitlow has been deeply disappointing. While the property appears modern and appealing to the eye, we encountered significant issues with transparency and a lack of concern for the tenants and their health. The Lease Trap: During our tour, we were told we could 'hold' a unit at no charge. In reality, we were signed into a binding contract. When we decided not to move in, we were given two options: a $2,000 reletting fee (plus rent until filled) or a $4,800 flat termination fee. We felt forced to move in just to avoid this massive financial hit, and we deeply regret it. Maintenance vs. Management: I want to clarify that the maintenance crew is fast, friendly, and helpful. Our issues are entirely with the office. On move-in day, the office was completely unprepared. We later found out they failed to put our unit on the 'make-ready' list entirely. As a result, the unit was filthy, had pests, air filter hadn’t been changed in months, and the water had a sulfur odor because the boiler hadn't been flushed. Management’s only response was to 'submit a ticket' rather than taking accountability for skipping the entire move-in preparation process. Health & Safety Concerns: After the initial water issue was resolved, a separate, intermittent sewage smell began filling our unit 1-2 times a week on random nights. As a pregnant woman with a toddler, this was an urgent concern. Because the smell was random, management used that as an excuse to avoid action, refusing to hire a third-party plumber to investigate the lines or vents due to the cost. My husband conducted his own investigation, purchasing water testing strips and a hydrogen sulfide sensor. The tests confirmed the water was fine (high pH and hard water), meaning the sewage odor was likely an air quality/plumbing vent issue. The odor has subsided with the cooler weather, but we are concerned it will return with the heat. We understand it’s going to smell outside due to being right next to a landfill, however we should not be smelling that so strongly inside our unit. Property Upkeep: * Trash: Rooms are frequently overflowing and unsanitary * Building Issues: * Recurring garage door failures and a bedroom door that won't shut due to foundation/leveling issues. * Entry and Exit gates frequently not working * Elevators not working for months Final Verdict: Do not be tempted by the '8-10 weeks free' promotion. If you encounter issues, you will end up paying that 'free' money back + termination just to escape. We are choosing to pay the $4,800 termination fee just to be done with this situation. Take your money elsewhere.

The elevator in my building has been down for 5 weeks (starting October 24)and counting. There has only been one communication from the leasing office regarding the issue, sent October 31. I sent an email on Nov 7 regarding the issue and received and call back stating the elevator issue was due to a recent storm that happened and that it was technically functional but was only requiring a clearance to begin usage. But the elevator is still not working. So it seems like that statement was not entirely true, because why would the elevator STILL not be working? Luckily, there is a secondary elevator in the building but it is not convenient, especially for anyone moving in. Guest parking is also a huge problem with this complex. They only have about 15-17 spaces in the gate available for all guests in a three building apartment complex with more than 250 units. They also offer about 6 spots by the leasing office, but they are always taken and complex will not allow anyone to park in the “future resident parking” spots. The guest parking spaces located within the gate are also very far from the building. When those are full, guest can park at the train station parking but that is also very far and very inconvenient and the signage in that lot is ambiguous on if you’ll get towed/ booted for parking there. Street parking is available but also hard to find and some cars seem to stay parked there for multiple days. Ultimately just annoying inconveniences
