  My ex. husband lived at Liberty Lofts for almost 6 years. He passed away on Aug. 5th. August rent was paid. We had everything out and the apartment was cleaned and perfect. It was literally move-in ready. We turned the keys in on Aug. 27th. Not by drop box, we went in and handed them over. EVERYONE told me I should've just let the kids (in college and don't live here) get what they wanted out of the apartment and just leave the rest... just walk away. I'm not like that and just couldn't do it. Also, I wanted as much of the deposit back as possible to go towards his funeral expenses. We got $250 of the deposit back, that's it. They charged us for part of September even though I handed the keys over on Aug. 27th. They didn't just charge us part of September rent, but also pest control, drainage, water, sewer, the works. So much for being a decent person. So, if you're wondering about that deposit when you move out, they will lie and cheat you out of it. You will not get it back.
