Before I start, THEY DELETE BAD REVIEWS. If this review ever disappears, it's because they have the money to remove it, which will do nothing but prove my point. This place would likely have a 2.4 at best if several of the one-stars weren't deleted.
The WORST place I've ever lived. They will arbitrarily charge you for anything they want and tack on ten other fees to your already overpriced rent ($949 for Soviet Russia block housing is diabolical). Supposedly this Mr. Krabs level of greed in rent money goes to the amenities, but most of them are locked or just a facade, including the pool during the summer months; granted, it's never clean enough to want to use it, but the fact you can't use it when it's wanted most is still absurd. Utilities and amenity fee are not included so you're paying extra for amenities you can't use most of the time. Additionally, the clubhouse is locked when the leasing office is closed despite residents having keys and apps to unlock the doors electronically (which doesn't even work), so you can't do morning workouts or get morning coffee before 10 A.M. unless you go all the way above and around via the second floor stairwell.
Cleanliness is a constant issue in the apartment, with ants and gnats having been frequent and invasive. Last summer, there was an infestation of drain flies throughout the whole building which got so bad it was hard to breathe without inhaling a mouthful. Ants have also been very pervasive no matter how much lavender and how many bug traps we use. Trash chutes are clogged almost constantly which is especially a problem for people who live next to them (including yours truly, I love the smell of weeks-old rotting garbage in the morning). There are stains in the hallways from spilled milk and vomit that are still there from several months, if not years, ago.
Maintenance is terrible. Fire alarms go off every week at random times including 2 A.M., and they especially love going off when you cook in your own unit. Your kitchen is, quite literally, smoke and mirrors since you can barely use it for any kind of cooking without the alarms going off, and there's barely any space to cook to begin with. AC works when it feels like, but there's constant black mold because of leaks due to the unit not being updated since Obama's first term.
Staff is very hit or miss. Maintenance staff are super chill and clearly doing their best, but they're not given enough people and resources to meet even the bare minimum. Front desk staff are friendly but clueless when it comes to any question beyond "are there packages for my unit?" I've raised SO many concerns and requests to them in my time living here, to which their usual response is something along the lines of "sorry to hear that, we'll fix it no problem," to then get absolutely no follow-up. To their credit, maintenance has gotten better with requests which I appreciate.
Units are technically furnished, but with the cheapest IKEA bulk furniture they can fit in their budget. Desks and coffee table are fine, no real issues there, but the faux leather couches literally bend and tear after a few months of use. I've put in multiple requests to get a replacement since they keep a bunch in the basement, but with yet again no response. The units come with a TV and TV stand which is nice, but they stopped including cable in the rent about two years ago, so now it's at best a glorified monitor for your gaming consoles; again, nice to have a living room TV for sure, but just know what you're getting.
Don't waste your time or money living here, I've lived in military base housing from the 80s with better accommodations.
