I’ve had long term experience with The Village Dallas, and I’m really disappointed in how management handles residents especially long-term tenants.
My family has been part of this community for 20 years.my mother was told her lease would not be renewed due to late payments over the past year. I really understand that late payments are a concern, but I do wish there had been more compassion and consideration, especially given that my mother is a senior citizen who has lived in this community for 20 years and has always paid the required late fees. the complete lack of flexibility in how this was handled is very frustrating.
I am also on the lease, though I haven’t been living with her as much, and I only recently became aware of the situation because my mother is a very private person and didn’t share her financial struggles. As soon as I found out, I stepped in and offered to take over the payments myself, set up automatic payments to guarantee on-time rent, and even agree to a shorter lease term if needed to show consistency.
Despite offering a clear and reasonable solution, management was unwilling to reconsider. That’s what makes this so disappointing. It sends the message that long-term residents are not valued, even when there is a way to correct the issue moving forward.
I’ve also spoken with other residents who share similar concerns that the focus seems to be more on turnover and increasing rent rather than maintaining relationships with people who have lived here for years.
On top of that, the quality of some renovations and maintenance doesn’t reflect the rising costs. Things like poorly installed cabinets, weak-flushing toilets, and rushed finishes make it harder to justify the pricing.
Overall, this experience has changed how I view this property. I hope management takes a step back and considers how decisions like this impact not just one resident, but the overall trust within the community.
