I’ve been staying here for two years now, and it’s been really great. I haven’t had a lot of issues. Maintenance is usually on time. The gates get broken often but they usually repair it not too long after. My only problem with this complex is that the soundproofing is really bad. The building structure is poor, walls are really thin, and my neighbor who stays on top of my apartment keeps stomping on the floor in heels early mornings which wakes me up while i’m sleeping sometimes. That will probably be the only reason i will not be renewing.

No security standard but they tow your vehicle even though you are a resident. Living here, you must be out of options to renew your lease.

Great job! Put in five maintenance orders Sunday night and he was there Monday morning and fixed all the issues in less than an hour!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Los Altos. I have been a resident since the property first opened in 2019, and after six years of residency, I was offered a renewal rate that is over $200 higher than the current market rent. This is especially concerning given that there have been no upgrades made to my apartment during my tenancy, and I am still awaiting a response regarding a much-needed paint job. Communication from the leasing office has been consistently slow and inefficient. It often requires going in person to receive any response. I have sent multiple messages to both the property manager, Andrea, and the assistant manager, Tiffany, without timely follow-up. Additionally, when a new leasing team was brought on, there was no effort made to introduce themselves to existing residents. I had to initiate contact myself. On December 23, I spoke with the assistant manager regarding my upcoming January renewal and requested to negotiate the rate, as it did not align with market pricing. I was told corporate would be contacted. After sending a follow-up email with no response, I visited the office again and was informed that corporate declined to negotiate, stating my rent was “only increasing by $14,” which did not address the significant gap between my renewal rate and current market rent. As a long-term resident, I have been patient through numerous ongoing issues, including persistent dog barking, excessive noise during the summer pool season, and ongoing parking garage concerns. Given my tenure and these unresolved issues, the lack of consideration to negotiate was extremely disappointing. Due to this experience, I will be exploring other housing options and will not be renewing at this rate. It is unfortunate, as I would have preferred to continue living here, but long-term residents should feel valued—and in this case, I do not.

LONG, BUT PLEASE READ IF YOU WANT AN HONEST REVIEW My experience here has steadily gone downhill. My first year was tolerable, but only barely. I moved into a unit that was clearly not inspected or properly cleaned. Valet trash was rarely picked up on schedule, the parking garage gates and at least one elevator were constantly broken, and cars were frequently broken into (there are no cameras in the garage or elevators). The garage itself is dangerous—narrow entryways, people speeding through, broken glass and trash everywhere. Hallways often smelled of trash and pet waste, and quiet hours were never enforced. The complex is laid out around a central pool. I understand apartment noise is inevitable, but the volume after 10 PM is ridiculous. Staff offers no support beyond telling residents to “call the police.” Many tenants, myself included, are healthcare workers working 12-hour shifts, and the constant noise is exhausting. Pool parties are frequent, especially in warmer months, and people leave trash everywhere. Management’s solution is mass courtesy emails instead of enforcing their own rules. My second year has been worse. I’ve submitted multiple work orders for a dryer that repeatedly stops working. I requested a replacement and was told no. I asked again on 12/27/25 after it had been broken for nearly a week. I even asked if I could temporarily use my own washer/dryer and was denied. I also requested pest control after seeing silverfish; while I was at work, the pest technician showed up, did nothing, and only offered verbal advice to my guest. The biggest issue was being locked out after hours earlier this year. The after-hours line lists “lock out” as an emergency, yet I was on hold for over an hour and never received a callback. I ultimately had to pay over $300 for a locksmith. Management initially acknowledged this should not have happened and suggested reimbursement wouldn’t be an issue. That changed when upper management stepped in. April L. claimed lockouts are not emergencies and cited a $150 “policy” that is not stated anywhere— not in the lease, not posted on-site, and contradicted by the emergency line recording (which I saved). I escalated to Mark F., SVP of Operations at Barvin, who only reimbursed $150 based on this invisible policy and admitted (in writing) they were “working on” updating the recording. Upper management showed zero integrity throughout this process. Residents are also forced to pay an extra $30+ per month for Fetch delivery, which many vendors won’t even use since it’s a warehouse address. Ironically, many packages still get delivered directly to doors. With so many empty units and newer communities being built nearby with better amenities at similar prices, this place simply isn’t worth it. The office staff is friendly and kind, but that does not make up for the poor safety, maintenance, and management. They deserve better leadership and shouldn’t have to shield tenants from constant failures. If you are considering signing a lease here—don’t. Maybe this review will finally get them to come fix the dryer. I WILL SIMPLY REPOST IF THIS IS DELETED. THE PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW.
