In the midst of glowing reviews from many Associa-serviced HOAs, I hope CEO, Mr. John Carona finds the time to read my comment (Complaint?) to further the stated Company mission: "To bring positive impact and meaningful value to every community."
I made an observation to our local Associa Manager, that since the resumption of Daylight Savings Time, last March 8, some Residents of the Pine Creek community in Cypress, have to do their (our) daily morning walk around our lake, in darkness, due to the inability of our Property Managers to adjust the time when lake sidewalk lamps are switched off, leaving us having to walk in the dark. Many residents prefer to lead out our lives based on the clock/time, rather than the occasion when sunrises and sunsets occur. Daylight Savings Time requires an adjustment and correspondence of time, with nature (the sun). For older people (retirees) like myself, this poses a safety hazard walking in the dark, without seeing the dog and duck excrement all over the sidewalk (the least of inconveniences), the unevenness of the sidewalk, and the small branches that many trigger us to miss a step or two, fall, and possibly get hurt. It was in our subdivision that we had a young autistic child drown in the lake recently, due to the lack of vision, and initiative of said personnel, and the resultant posting of warning signs bringing attention of residents to possibilities of harm, after the fact, when we cannot bring a human life back. It is good that no enterprising lawyer interfered to pursue legal action against entities (deep pockets) that may have had responsibility(ies) involved. This morning, the lamps still turned off at 7:30 A.M. (36 days later), when it was still dark, and the promise of action, by the appropriate personnel, to correct this comment, has not changed a thing. CMCA and AMS designations of managers mean nothing, if simple things cannot be taken care of. My wife and I have lived in this subdivision from April 2014, when we bought our home, new. Please tell me if I am wrong, or out of order in looking after the welfare of myself and fellow residents, and if I misinterpreted your company's mission, or if it was never explained to your people in the field. Hopefully somebody in your large organization finds it relevant to bring this email to your attention, Sir. Thanks a lot. Oscar J. Mauricio
