I would not recommend staying here. They made everything sound great when we were signing the lease, but after moving in, we’ve had multiple issues. Our garbage disposal has been broken for almost a month. We’ve reported it twice, and no one has come to fix it. Yesterday, they marked the request as “completed” without fixing anything. Their only explanation is that they’re short-staffed, which is unacceptable.

My apartment caught on fire November 23, 2025. It was of no fault of my own; fire investigators ruled it as caused by outdoor electrical unit. My bedroom wall was axed down in order to put out the fire.
It is April and they haven’t done a single thing to repair. The unit they moved me to is outdated, and a complete downgrade from the unit I was originally in, yet they’re charging me the same price. FRAUD is the only thing I can come up with as to why no repairs have been made. I use their renters insurance, which is ONLY to cover them and the building… so why has nothing been done?
Thank god I was home that morning. I was asleep and woke up to smoke everywhere. My smoke detectors never alarmed. I have audio and video proof from my indoor camera, which my lawyer is thankful for. If I wasn’t home, my dog would have died. There was smoke everywhere when it woke me up, and it got bad so fast. The fire was inside my bedroom wall.
All my stuff was ruined by the smoke. They refused to get me and my dog a hotel for that night as my apartment was destroyed. It was traumatic and I thank god me and my dog were okay, as well as everyone else in the building. The alarm for the building never went off until I had to manually pull it so everyone would evacuate.
The apartment they stuck me in has a broken closet door, and laundry door, and the front door has a huge gap (doesn’t fit in the frame), so I live with roaches and lizards. Even tho I have asked for help with this, I am just lied to and ignored. Always being told “tomorrow” by Lisa… “Tomorrow.” I’ve heard that word since November… no help to this day.
These people are heartless and could care less about the tenants, especially their safety. Don’t let the views fool you.

If I could give negative stars I would.
On the morning of November 23, 2025, I was asleep in my apartment at Baypoint; I was awakened by smoke everywhere throughout my apartment. It was absolutely terrifying as my smoke detectors and alarm never went off. I frantically got my dog and self outside to find smoke coming out of my bedroom wall. Inside my bedroom, where I had been sleeping, was filled the most with smoke.
The alarm in my breezeway also never went off until I physically pulled it to assure the other residents in the building would evacuate.
My bedroom wall was axed down by the fire department. After the fire investigator came, it was proven that the electrical unit on the exterior of my wall had sparked and caused the fire inside my wall. The fire was absolutely not my fault and there was nothing I could’ve done to cause it to happen. They were negligent in maintaining their electrical units.
Baypoint had me move to another unit as my apartment was totaled as well as most of my belongings due to the smoke.
My original apartment was a bay view, with all new appliances… everything I had wanted and what I had signed my lease for.
The unit they had me move to is outdated, faces the parking lot, the door does not fit in the frame, so I have roaches and lizards coming in constantly. Lisa and Jeri, as well as maintenance, could care less as I have asked multiple times to have a barrier on my door or get it replaced, and they continue to say they will get it fixed.
It’s now April and they have yet to begin repairing my apartment that caught fire. They are charging me the SAME AMOUNT monthly as my original unit, even though it is a complete DOWNGRADE.
The renters insurance I pay for through Baypoint only covers damages to their property (the building and structure), not my personal belongings. I understand that I should have been more careful as to obtain insurance that had more coverage, I just was unaware.
Since the insurance only covers their building, I cannot for the life of me understand why a single thing has yet to be repaired on my apartment other than fraud. The bedroom wall is still boarded up, the inside still wreaks of smoke. Lisa has repeatedly said “tomorrow, they are coming to start repairs.” Shes said the word “tomorrow” since November.
The day of the fire I asked if they could get me and my dog a hotel room for the night, as the unit they gave me a key to had no furniture and mine was full of smoke. They said no.
When I tried to make a claim through the insurance, the insurance company refused to speak with me and said I had to go through the property management. Very unfortunate as Lisa and Jeri only seem to lie and deceive.
I’m unable to break my lease without penalty.
Very heartbreaking that they care so little about my loss, they won’t even make my current apartment comfortable to live in.
These people are heartless and have proven over and over that they do not care about the community here.
Be very cautious moving here. The views are nice, but it’s not worth being treated this way, not to mention UNSAFE. It’s unfortunate because this place would be great if the management showed any bit of care.
I’m honestly lucky and blessed my dog and I are okay. If I wasn’t home, my dog would be dead as the alarms failed. I was already coughing when I woke up, and it got very bad, very quickly.
Please be careful and I highly do not recommend this place.
They transferred me out of an old unit because of mold. This unit has had plumbing issues also and now has mold under the sink.
First floor units have a lot plumbing issues that cause flooding inside units. 3rd floor has a lot of leaking ceiling units cuz of OLD buildings not updated like roofing. Shingles are around buildings after it gets a little windy.
Infrastructure is really old. You hear every step above you and everything said in the unit next to you.
Anytime you’re in the office somebody is there to complain about their packages missing. I’ve only actually received one thing out of a few delivered packages. The prices go up but the value is certainly decreasing year by year.
It’s no different than any other apartment that’s 40 plus years old.
It has a nice view on one side of the water.
Some units have new appliances

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would.
I lived at Baypoint from 2020 until recently, and it used to be a great place to live until the new management group Trinity took over. Since then, the entire place has gone downhill.
I transferred to a larger unit in the same complex and the experience was a complete mess. The office kept giving me different move-in dates, and when they finally said I could move in, the apartment clearly wasn’t ready. It was dirty, gnats were everywhere (and till the day we moved out still couldn't get rid of them), and multiple things in the unit were broken. Basic preparation was completely ignored.
Maintenance was even worse. Requests sat for months with little to no action. By the time we moved out, several issues were still not fixed. Ironically, maintenance called at one point to ask if things had been repaired but first asked if I was even still living there. That pretty much sums up the level of organization and communication here.
The front office staff may be friendly, but friendliness doesn’t make up for poor management and lack of follow-through.
The final straw was the rent increase. My rent was $1,650 and they tried raising it to **$2,400**, claiming the unit wasn’t at “market value.” Yet the same apartment is currently listed on their website for **$1,832**. So apparently “market value” only applies when they’re trying to squeeze more money out of existing residents.
After being a loyal resident for over six years, this is how they treat people who have consistently paid their rent and taken care of the property. It’s disappointing to see what this complex has turned into. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere unless you enjoy poor communication, slow maintenance, and questionable pricing practices.
