When my wife and I first started searching for a home, we visited several lots and manufacturers. Clayton Homes of Fort Worth was the first, and over the next week we checked out a number of other companies. No matter where we went, we kept comparing everything back to Clayton's designs and features.
One day while we were in the area, we decided to stop by Clayton Homes in Burleson. That's where we met David Wood. He walked us through several homes on the lot, really listening to what we liked and didn't like. It was clear he was mentally tracking our preferences the entire time. The last home he showed us that day was the Waco2 Versace. He already knew before we walked in that it would be the perfect fit for us—and he was absolutely right.
The layout, the features, the colors—everything was spot on. The staging and décor were so impressive that my wife immediately said she wanted to hire their interior decorator to make our future home look "that pretty." That's when David told us, "We're trying to move this model off our lot. If you buy this one, you'll get all the décor as well." That sealed the deal. Between the ideal floor plan, the master shower, the granite countertops, and then getting all of the décor, we were sold—once we could sell our existing home.
Thankfully, our home sold very quickly, and we were able to lock everything in. We then found the perfect piece of land, and now we're able to showcase our perfect home. While we were waiting for all of the legal details like contracts and closings, we would visit Burleson just to walk through "our house" again and again, taking different grandchildren to give them a preview. In truth, it only made the waiting seem longer. From the land purchase to having the house on our lot was about six weeks—it helped that it was a model home from their lot rather than a new build.
Over the next two months, while we sold our house, bought land, and worked through the process of purchasing and setting up the Versace, I was in the Clayton office multiple times a week. I had a lot of questions and wanted to make sure we were always a step ahead in terms of permits and county requirements so there wouldn't be any delays. David was just as proactive on his side—making calls, keeping things moving, and making sure nothing slipped through the cracks.
At one point, we had a major storm in the forecast. David realized there was just enough time to get the home delivered to our land before the storm hit, and he pushed to make it happen. If it had been delayed, we would have been set back by at least another 10 days. Instead, everything stayed on track.
There isn't a salesperson I would trust more than David. He's patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely focused on making sure you get exactly what you want from Clayton Homes of Burleson. From start to finish, this has been a truly amazing experience. We are absolutely thrilled with our home and with the service we received.
