Some background to understand the review; recently my dad passed away leaving my mother by herself. I will be moving in with her to look after her in the absence of my dad.
When it was decided that i'd be moving away from this apartment, I immediately let the management office know of my intent to leave. I do not have direct emails for anyone in the front office so I submitted an email through the resident portal. In that email I had outlined that my father had passed, that i'd be leaving my lease just two months early, That i'd been a good resident for the almost five years of my residence, that i'd never been late on payments and looked after the apartment I was in. I had asked very nicely that since it's only two months early and given the usual circumstances and my good standing if I could break the lease early with no penalty.
It seems that this was not immediately brought to the property manager's attention as it should have been since I had not received any reply for weeks.
This past Monday evening, I went into the office myself to speak with the manager and I brought a long an official copy of my dad's death certificate to show that I am not in fact being dishonest.
The manager wasn't in at the time, but two people were sitting in the front office. one of the ladies had said she'd received the email I sent through the resident portal and that everything was ok and I was good to go. I was assured that the request and the death certificate would be sent to the manager and i'd be getting a phone call soon.
Comes Friday evening, I had still received no reply, so I phoned the office and asked to speak to the manager. I was told she's on a phone call and she'd call me back when she was done. An hour had passed and I had heard nothing and since it was close to closing time, I had the audacity to call again. I was told again that the manager would call back when she was available.
This Saturday, after doing some grocery shopping with my mom, I stopped by the office to see if the manager was in at about noon. the door was locked. I assumed the staff were at lunch and proceeded to take some more of my stuff out of the apartment. I tried again at a little after 3 PM and the office was locked tight again.
I'm at a loss. I'd like to resolve this situation so I can plan ahead accordingly, but I need to be able to speak to the manager for that.
Now that i've posted this review, I am sure to get a call first thing on Monday morning, and i'll bet this review will be the first time the manager had heard of my issue.
I hope the the management team that actually makes decisions are reasonable and considerate people and can help me out. I'll post an update when I have a resolution.
An update for this review. I had finally got a hold of the property manager, miss Kendra. I had a chat with her over the phone and a compromise was reached. Miss Kendra was helpful and understanding. Big thank you to her.
As of today 01/02/26 I have cleaned out the apartment and surrendered my keys. The lady at the front desk couldn't find an official form to sign so we both signed a hand written note.

Lawson's will illegally tow your car even if you register for visitors. Costing you almost 400 dollars every time they decide to do it. Don't move here by far the worst apartment complex you could choose. Beyond that theft and vandalism is high in this apartment and the ones surrounding it. Renters beware and keep you and your family safe by not choosing Lawson's as your next home.

I have been here to long and this is ridiculous, I have put in maintenance request after maintenance requests and nothing has been done. I have filed maintenance complaints with Fort Worth Housing Authority and still nothing has been done this is not ok I don't even feel safe at this point none of the windows lock and my front door is all busted up, you can clearly see where someone kicked in the front door prior to me moving in and it was just patched up, my son cut himself on one of the nails bulging out of the door, I sent the pictures of that along with a maintenance requests for them to come fix the door and still no one came, my kids ended up putting duct tape on the door to try to keep the door closed, my ceiling fan has been hanging since June and the only thing keeping it in place is the wire the maintenance man that did show up said he would be back in 10 minutes and never returned that was two months ago, one of the maintenance men took the damn smoke detector down to fix it and never put it back up and that was after my housing inspection I went to the office and brought this to the last assistant manager attention did she send anyone "NO"!!! that can potentially make me fail inspection and is a safety hazard. I'm not even going to get started on the leaks and floods, from the hallway to both bedrooms and closet and my closet is the worst, the smell of mildew and possible mold has literally triggered my asthma I have to take breathing treatments which doesn't help because I am still breathing in whatever is underneath the carpet. The carpet in my kids room was flooded from the hot water busting, the contractor that came out pulled the bedding from under the carpet a week ago told me I was going to have get someone else to come in and fix the carpet and now there just concrete and carpet, my dishwasher, and garbage disposal has been messed up since May or June. And everytime I submit a maintenance request per the portal they mark them as complete but no one completes anything. I haven't paid rent for this month because this is just not right, I have been debating if I want to call code compliance but I am fearful corporate will make management retaliate and file viction on me for not paying my rent and get me kicked off housing but how is this OK... this apartment is damn near unlivable and I am being forced to stay her with no voice, no help no body to advocate for me as a tenant, a freaking human being, all they are concerned with is the rent, why should I have to pay rent for this apartment and nothing is being done to fix anything. When these people leave this office they're going home they go home to a front door that works, windows with locks on them to keep them secure, I have to sleep in my room with the smell of mildew, and whatever else that settled in this wet carpet that is triggering my asthma this is so not right.
