Our dryer has been out for 3 weeks. Someone came today but couldn’t fix it because the quote for the job wasn’t approved.
Also moved into the apartment with a roach infestation. They eventually got someone out there though so that was chill.
It also took calling Austin 311 to have a leak fixed—water was soaking in the carpet of one of our bedrooms for the first 3 weeks of us living in this place. Smelled like mildew. But eventually got fixed after calling the city so it’s also chill.
A rat got chopped up in our AC a couple weeks ago. Picture attached🫦
We also moved in without the apartment cleaned whatsoever. Not even a vacuum to the carpets. Like human hair visibly in the carpets.
Tbh though I understand that you get what you pay for. I’m just making a review now in hopes that our dryer will finally get fixed. I’ve tried calling but the leasing line is never taking calls and doesn’t return voicemails. Been like that since our lease started and a bedroom was flooded lol.
Really everything is whatever I just want my dryer fixed so I don’t keep having to travel 30 minutes to a friends house to do laundry😭😭

Reached out to this company via Zillow for a condo they had listed. Promptly received an email response the same night from John saying the unit is available and to text him directly for a viewing. I texted the next day, but all of the sudden the unit had been "leased within the last week." I asked why the condo was still up on Zillow if it had been leased days ago, and why he messaged saying it was available and ready for viewings. I received a B.S. explanation -- it must have been an auto response. the listing is still live on Zillow, btw. Waste of time with this company.

RACIAL DISCRIMINATION CONCERNS
John Firnhaber, the owner of this company, handles listings and also acts as a sales agent. I initially reached out to him through Zillow regarding one of his properties. Zillow requires enough personal information that someone can easily identify you through a simple Google search.
As a licensed sales agent, there are ethical standards and codes of conduct that must be followed. These standards prohibit discrimination or redlining based on race.
On his listing, John requested that interested applicants text him directly, which I did (see screenshots). He did not respond to my original message about the property.
I found another property and it just so happened he was the realtor on that property as well and reached out, no response again. This was about a month ago.
Today, I unexpectedly received an email from him inquiring about a tenant for immediate move-in at 5909 Signal Point — the same property I had originally contacted him about. Given the sudden outreach only when an immediate tenant was needed, this raised serious concerns.
After receiving that email, I followed up (see screenshots). Shortly after sending my response, I received another notification stating that my email was not delivered because my address had been marked as spam.
Based on these events, I am concerned that I was racially profiled. I am not difficult to identify online, I am a public figure in the Austin area and SBO and it appears my information may have been searched. I have no criminal history, strong credit, and a positive rental history. There is no legitimate justification for denying communication or access to an application.
I believe I was unfairly treated due to being an African-American applicant. Please be aware of this situation.

I read the other reviews here and in other sites, and a lot of them are very accurate. I have been trying to get information about a lease for a property at 500 E Riverside Dr for the last week. John and Kaylee both have avoided talking to me at all. They don’t respond to emails either. I have sent inquiries, and nothing. Nobody asked me what lease term I was interested in or anything. Literally, the only thing I was sent timely was a bill for 1st months rent, Pet and security deposit. They sent that before I ever even saw a lease. The lease finally came and it was written for 6 months, which I would not be interested in. They did send another version a day later with it extended to a year lease. I had other questions about verbiage in the lease that seemed to indicate I would be responsible for glass breakage and plumbing issues with no mention of whether it was due to something I’ve done. It was a valid inquiry in my opinion, especially if you scroll down and read reviews of actual tenants of theirs. I will never do business with this company. The only pleasant interaction has been with the girl who answers the phones there. I hope she finds a better job, because she probably deals with a lot of angry people all day.
