I do not live here, but my family has for a few years. While visiting we have had great experience with the staff and all the amenities available. We really enjoy our time here.

I moved to Austin with my boyfriend, now fiancé, 3 years ago and we’ve only lived in one building during our stay - The Monroe. We began in a one bedroom apartment and after a year, and determining that we LOVE it here, we moved into a larger 2-bedroom unit…and I’m happy to say we just signed another year here! Especially after talking with other tenants at our community events, I’ve come to realize the BIG part of what keeps this place feeling so welcoming and homely is the manager, Lisa. The first year we were here she wasn’t a part of the team and the leadership was questionable - you could see cleanliness slipping. She began as an assistant in the office and immediately brought warmth with her presence - and her care reflected in the upkeep! Her large heart for her work made such a difference and she was promoted to manager - WELL DESERVED! The building was new when I moved in and I know things can be hard to upkeep (when she took on managing there was so much beginning to fall apart and she was doing it solo - no full time maintenance employees) but then she whipped things back into shape! Under her leadership this place has come back to life. Where do you see a manager all over the property cleaning, touring, fixing AC units, unclogging drains, etc….here. Where management cares THAT much. Thank you, Lisa! Location - great. 10 minutes from downtown. 10 minutes from McKinney State Park. Two stoplights away from the 71. 8 minutes to the HEB I go to, 10 minutes from the new HEB, take your pick. Other than the front facing street, we’re surrounded by a strip of woods which allows for privacy & low noise. 8 minutes from the airport, yet you don’t hear the planes - such a bonus when you travel a lot! Ok, about the amenities - what’s not to love? You can start your day with complimentary coffee in the leasing office (just bring your own mug.) A clean pool with lounge chairs all over, and in, the water. I feel like I’m rich by this pool. The grills (we use once a week at least). The electric bonfire to cozy up with a nice book and make s’mores at. We use the gym 4-5 days a week and it has all the equipment you need for a solid workout. Dancers/yoga enthusiasts like myself get to enjoy the second floor room with mirrors stretching floor to ceiling, wall to wall with plenty of room to move about. The community center is a fabulous area for group gatherings, as experienced during our many events hosted for the tenants here - I love that the neighborly attitude is encouraged here. Mailboxes and the lockers for packages have been secure from my experience. Everything requires a key fob for entry here. A couple extra perks at additional costs - on site storage units of all sizes and covered car ports! Love my car so this is important for safety. And I’m planning wedding so extra storage is necessary ring now! I must say, the units themselves are incredible. New appliances, high ceilings, warm lights, plenty of cabinetry, good sized walk-in closet space, in-unit laundry, bathtubs, are all things we were happy to get to check off our search list here. Pet-friendly? Definitely. They have a gated dog park out front and keep dog treats in the office - they might remember your fur baby’s name before yours. Don’t be offended ;) I know for some time they also rented out a show unit to tenants if family/friends were visiting. My parents rented this out and sincerely enjoyed their stay. This is an extra special feature I appreciate because they were able to stay near, but comfortably in their own space. And saved the expense of renting a car or ubering to us every day. Overall, The Monroe has been such a special place to call home. Highly recommended.

This place is Amazing ! Very clean and accommodating. When we are visiting our family at the Monroe , the management , specifically Lisa , couldn’t be anymore friendly and helpful and professional. She goes out of her way to make us feel comfortable. There’s many amenities to use as well , coffee station ( which is my favorite) gym and a very nice pool area . Based on our time there , because of Lisa doing such a great job , our stay was great !

The Monroe - I’ve lived here for 1 1/2 and absolutely the best experience!! From attending multiple apartment gathers, to meeting my neighbors, but most importantly the management! Lisa is such a joy and truly passionate about ensuring her residents are having a great experience. Whenever I need something I know I can count on Lisa to make sure it gets taken care of. This is by far my favorite unit from the modern fixtures to the spacious unit and tall ceilings. If I wasn’t moving across country I would absolutely renew again. Extremely grateful to this community and most importantly the woman who makes is all happen Lisa. Thank you for such an amazing experience and ensuring our safety as a single black woman. Thank you!

When I moved to Austin in March 2023, I moved into The Monroe. They cut me a great deal and made the price super affordable for me and my partner. They were very open to our ESA (dog) and helped us set everything up along the way. Nearly three years later, we are STILL at The Monroe! We love it here. I'm 32 years old and I can say that this is the best place I've ever lived in. The amenities are awesome. There's a huge pool with fountains, sunbathing chairs, and two grills that are perfect for holidays, hosting, or just living it up on the weekend. The gym is stellar. Two stories: an open studio/stretching room upstairs, and a full gym downstairs. This was a big deal for me, as I am a VERY active guy and workout 4-5 days a week. When we moved in, I literally cancelled my LA Fitness gym membership saving me $45/month; I couldn't justify paying for it when my apartment had almost everything I needed. There's also a very large community center by the mailroom. It's huge. I see people working down there on a regular basis. Wifi, vending machines, plenty of outlets; it's a great place to get some work done or host a party. And if you need to get some serious, undisturbed work done, there are even closed door business suites and conference rooms on the second floor. I hear they may be turning one into a podcast studio for residents soon too! The leasing office offers a free coffee station. There are also free dog treats, mints, and occasionally other goodies you can help yourself to. Right outside the leasing office there are Amazon lockers for package delivery to help prevent against potential theft. Additionally, there's an outdoor fenced in community dog park which is great. There's also a walking path around the entire property that I take my dog on about twice a day. This place also has storage units and covered parking spots you can add to your lease for an additional cost. They're decently affordable and I myself use both. The location is pretty darn great. You're less than 10 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from downtown, Zilker, Barton Springs, and any store you could want. You're also a little off of Riverside, which is a huge plus in my opinion. Austin has a big homeless population, and we do get some stragglers around our complex, but it's nothing like it would be if you were on Riverside or closer to a busy area. The street (Montopolis Dr.) is relatively chill considering we're located so close to a major city and an international airport. The last thing I need to mention about this place that really sets it apart from every other apartment complex I've lived in is the management. I honestly can't believe I'm saying that. Management at apartment complexes typically suck, but not here. The building manager, Lisa Klemas, is a gem. Wherever they found her, they were looking in the right place. She cares more about the residents in this community more than any other building manager I've ever lived under. She's patient and understanding, helpful and hard working. She puts on great community events, invites food trucks, and makes sure this place stays together. Maintenance is usually very quick and responsive and if you ever have an issue, just pop down into the office and talk to them about it. Listen, is this apartment perfect? No place is perfect, but we have loved living here for the last nearly three years and are about to sign another year lease. That's been our experience at The Monroe and its been great from our day one in Austin!
