  Incompetent Property Manager. I had to deal with this company while moving across the country, then subsequently a year and a half afterwards. First contact took many "nudges" to get someone to speak to. They send overworked or cheap contractors for repairs. And were the absolute worst in the event of an emergency. I had to basically manage a water main break, including the communication and documentation by myself while working 2 jobs over the coarse of 3 months. The owner speaks in a very convoluted manner, to try to gain ground on negations. If you do decide to use this company watch everything you say, and just listen. They will attempt to find any loophole to benefit only themselves. I shouldn't have had to record every phone call with who should have been simply, just a property manager. I am ecstatic the owner sold and I do not have to deal with April Realty Services.

  People are so quick to leave a negative review but never take the time to leave a good one. I have been living in a house they manage for 2 months now and I can tell you this much..... If you call them, they answer the phone. If you call them with a concern they address it right away. We purchased a water softener and called asking for help with installation. The owner answered the phone and said he would take care of it and the next day it was done. He didn't help me with the installation he actually just had it installed. I had an issue with a door not properly closing, they came in took the door off the hinge shaved it and made the door fit. Keep in mind they don't own the house they just manage the property for the owner. Also this was a house they just took over management of. In the beginning the staff informed me that this was a new property to their company so if there are any problems at all just pick up the phone and call. And in 2 months I have called 4 times and all 4 times somebody answered the phone and the issue was dealt with. The carpets were in decent condition before we moved in during pre-inspection they went through the trouble of having new carpets put in. With the amount of properties they manage I'm shocked nobody has come through to leave good reviews. If you have concerns they will address it. The sad part is when people have concerns they call in complain and give attitude. Keep in mind the person you are talking to didn't build the house or cause the problems that you are going through. What ever happened to common courtesy? I bet if we look at the complaints compared to the amount of properties they manage its more than likely less than 0.5% of people who are actually complaining if that at all. People should work on being polite about resolving issues instead coming out with guns blazing. This isn't elementary school for pete's sake....

  They have managed some properties we own for the last 4 years, they do a good job. We have used different services before them, and although they miss some maintenance items now and then, overall they are very good. David Allen knows more about Austin property and what it takes to keep it rented than anyone I have ever met here in Austin.
