I have loved living here almost immediately since moving in. I plan on living here next year again. The building is always clean, lots of great restaurants walking distance, and my dog loves the park. The maintenance and management are always on top of everything and very easy to work with. Especially if you have a job within walking distance and like walking I definitely recommend living here as it’s also very affordable for the quality.

Living here has been such a wonderful experience that I almost didn’t want to share it because I wanted to keep this place to myself. The community is friendly, responsive, and well cared for. Maintenance requests are handled quickly, often within a day, and communication is always clear. Resident events feel thoughtful and bring people together naturally. When small issues arise, management resolves them fairly and with respect. The leasing team is approachable and always available to help. Little touches like free Frothy Monkey coffee make everyday life brighter. It truly feels like home here.

I’ve had such a wonderful experience living at Note 16 Apartments! The location is fantastic—close to everything I need, but still quiet and comfortable. The maintenance staff deserves a special shoutout—they are always so kind, responsive, and on top of any request that comes up. It’s clear they really care about keeping the property in great shape and making sure residents are happy.
Another small but much-appreciated perk: the free coffee machine! It’s such a nice touch, especially for early mornings or quick pick-me-ups throughout the day. Overall, Note 16 has been a lovely place to call home. I couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Pros:
-David and Jose are really friendly and nice. I struggled a bit with the payment system and I appreciated that David would warn me each month when I was about to unknowingly miss the payment rather than letting me miss it and charging a late fee or something like that. I run into Jose somewhat often and he always says hi or good morning to me. He reminds me of a dad, he’s very sweet.
-the location is very close to Vanderbilt if you’re a student. The Stevenson science building on campus is being torn down and a chunk of the stem departments have moved to a building that’s literally like 5 minutes down the street from here. Some of my physics classes are in there and it’s really convenient to walk to them.
-the floor plans look small when you first see them or walk into the empty rooms, but if you’re strategic with furniture placement you can get a lot out of the space. In my little bedroom that’s halfway triangular I have a large L shaped desk, a dresser, book shelves, a recliner chair and my bed. Though, I only need a twin sized bed so that definitely plays a part. I included photos because that would have been nice for me to see when I was looking thru apartments to get an idea of the space size.
-the coffee machine is really handy and when you first move in they give you a free mug so you don’t have to worry about unpacking your dishes right away to use it. The machine is down somewhat often but they tend to be good about fixing it if you email them to let them know.
-the community is very small so the hallways are most often empty. It’s really nice if you’re introverted or prefer the quiet. When they have events, sometimes I hesitate to go to them because I worry there will be too many people, but then I go and there’s just one or two people there. It’s really nice.
-on the topic of events, sometimes they give out free food downstairs. It’s great because driving in Nashville is kind of stressful so I wouldn’t normally go to those restaurants myself. This way I still get to enjoy them.
-they play music in the lobby that’s very pretty and relaxing. It’s like if jazz was sleepy.
-David is pretty quick about answering emails. When I was looking at reviews of other places while looking for an apartment I saw people complain that their managers didn’t care about their problems, so I’m glad that isn’t an issue here.
Cons:
-when I first moved in my place was very like subtly dirty. You’re expected to clean up after yourself when you move out and if it’s not good enough for them they’ll charge you a cleaning fee to clean it themselves. The people before me must have just barely met that standard. I felt really gross here before I got everything cleaned up and made it my own. That may just be part of apartment life though.
-the walls are pretty thin and you can hear like everything your neighbors are doing or construction outside or anything like that. Sadly that’s like every apartment in the world though. One thing this apartment has that others I looked at didn’t is the carpet in the hallways makes them a lot less echoey than other ones. The echo is still pretty bad though sometimes, it depends if there are other people making a lot of noise in there.
-the hot water in the bath lasts for nothing at all. I once timed it and it went cold after not even 25 minutes. I would rather pay more each month for longer hot showers. The toilet also doesn’t try very hard to flush so I feel like I have to clean it a lot more often than I have at my other places. It seems like they cut costs on their water appliances overall.
-the front entrance beeps very very loudly when you tap your fob to open the door. It’s just horrible, it hurts my ears so bad. Luckily the other entrance from the parking garage doesn’t beep from the fob, but when I’m walking home from class it’s most convenient to use the front entrance with the beepy door.
Overall I like this place a lot more than I dislike it. I feel generally really comfortable in my apartment. I hope to stay here until I finish my PhD.
