Initially when we moved in there were some damages and issues. A couple window sills had chewed edges from previous tenants (shown below), blinds quite literally fell without reason, and the bathroom had things falling from the wall. Overall, the quality of the apartment when we moved in was less than expected for an award winning apartment. Another issue we had was that the apartment was consistently trying to spruce up the complex, but on the most inconvenient days. No warning beforehand, they leave a slip of paper in your door and expect you to make do, even when the updates require being in your apartment. I enjoyed the amenities of the walkable area and a few other things, but it was typically an inconvenience to live here. I will also comment that if you have pets when moving in to this complex, be prepared to pay at least $300 up front for their existence. The money does NOT go toward any damages your pet may cause, it's simply a collection. Another thing, this apartment has carpet and hardwood, if you leave even a corner (Photo example below) they will replace the entire carpet. In the photo shown, we were told because of that spot they had to change the entire carpet from the front to the back of the apartment. We were charged $1,250~, which I felt like was entirely too much, but then the property manager expanded and told me that it could've costed us up to $1,750 if we had moved in the year the carpet was put in. I'll also mention that the company they use for carpet replacement does not do corner cut outs or stretching for even the smallest spots for the carpet. So, more than likely if there is any damage done to the carpet, no matter how slight, they will use the security deposit. We were also told that partially why our carpet was replaced is because they changed all their carpets colors right after we moved in. Go figure we'd end up paying for an entire new carpet. Not to mention, JUST to move in you have to pay the first month's rent, security deposit, and whatever side fee they incur all on the first day of move in. As far as the property people, they were very cordial in telling us about what was going on, however our conversation didn't end with any meaningful or helpful information. Overall, I was disappointed I had to leave a negative review, but it's definitely deserved.
