This is a recent review for all those considering moving into the avalon apartment complex managed by ms. toni Roe I would highly advise that you reconsider she is a very deceitful individual who will tell you anything to sell their overpriced unkept and pest filled apartments. Where do we start? 1. Most is not all entrances to apartments are not very well sealed so your electricity bill will be sky high due to all of the air leaking out and or coming in. 2. They have a serious pest issue im not sure whats worse the mice/ rats that live in the unsealed attic (that you can hear running in the ceiling and in the walls its very disturbing) or the roaches that you will regularly find in your apartment both dead and alive and im talking on nearly a daily basis .( if you ask her she more likely than not will tell you she has no clue with you are talking about or her favorite tag line “if I didn’t know about it how could i have fixed it would you agree “😂 good lord ) 3 when it comes to repairs they will do the absolute bare minimum esthetically if is not very indicative of the steep price that you will pay in rent. 4. The walls are paper thin so take that as u will god forbid you have loud neighbors and Im not sure how but you can hear the back door somehow even from the farthest room in your apartment every time it opens or closes which is quite scary honestly especially if you're home alone . 5. The walls, ceilings and floors are very uneven and have gaps, cracks and bulges in them in not sure if its due to the building being old as time itself or the poor upkeep. 6. Your land lord is extremely dismissive and quite honestly rude which its very disheartening when you consider all you deal with . Over all it’s definitely not a recommended spot to move and I didn’t see any recent reviews on these apartments so i moved in thinking maybe the individual before just had a bad experience with a landlord and left hateful reviews but no they were for the most part honest if you can afford this dumb i strongly urged you to move somewhere worth your money.

These apartments aren’t the worst but they are certainly NOT FULLY renovated as advertised. It’s definitely overpriced for the quality. The building is 100 years old and it really shows when you start living in the apartment. The rooms are really spacious which is great, but not really functional because so may repairs are needed. And there are some things not disclosed on the listing that people should know before choosing to live here. These are the main issues with this apartment building: 1. HVAC (heating/cooling)- is very outdated. It takes a lot of energy to heat and cool the entire apartment which results in higher utility bills. 2. Hot water- the building uses “community hot water” so the entire building shares two water tanks. So sometimes the water is hot, but more than likely it’s NOT. This is so inconvenient during winter! 3. Structural issues- the building is very old so the floors and walls have a lot of cracks (this results in more creepy inspects getting into the building). 4. Windows- in the apartment weren’t installed properly so some leak when it rains, and alot of air comes in through the cracks in the window esp during the winter months, making it colder in the apartment, and means you have to turn up the heat. 5. Lights- the bedrooms and the living room were not built with lights so you have to use lamps for lighting at night. 6. Electrical outlets- there aren’t enough outlets in the house and the ones that are there most do not work properly or you can’t plug in certain devices. 7. Doors- the doors in the apartment are old and have not been replaced so they do not close properly. So the apartment doesn’t have much privacy. 8. Parking- there is gated parking but the parking lot is too small and narrow that larger vehicles can’t fit and there needs to be more parking spaces. 9. Power outages- occur very frequently, not sure if it’s because of it being so close to the road, but whenever the weather is bad the power always goes out at this apartment building. 10. Noisy neighbors- I was on the first floor and the upstairs neighbors are very LOUD and they have alot of children. And you hear EVERYTHING on those creaky old hardwood floors.
