I have lived in this apartment for about 6 months. I would not recommend these apartments to anyone, and I look forward to leaving when my lease is up, if not before that.
1) I did not have functioning heat in my apartment until a few weeks ago after I had reached out to the management multiple times. I was using space heaters to stay warm, and at times the apartment was below 55 degrees. Additionally, when my heat was fixed, I was told that I would have a wall thermostat to change the temperature. I do not have this and it has been over a couple of weeks since the heat was fixed. I've just been guessing what temperature my apartment is at and hoping for the best.
2) I now have very large cockroaches coming out of the heat vents in the floor.
3) Most of the outlets only have one functioning socket (i.e., most outlets have two places where you can plug something in. In my case, only one works, if any). This is problematic in-and-of itself, but it is exacerbated by the fact that most rooms only have one (1) outlet. I have blown a fuse in my apartment three times now simply by wanting to have my oven, electric kettle, and a blender plugged in. I couldn't imagine what one would do if they wanted to have a microwave. They'd probably have to unplug everything, including the refrigerator. Also, no outlets in the bathroom.
4) Sometimes, my lights will just start flickering and go out. I have to wait to see when they'll turn on again. Thankfully, it's usually only for a few second to about 2 minutes.
5) Not all my windows lock, so that's a fun safety concern.
6) The air flow in the apartment is garbage. The only place in the apartment that has cooling (A/C) is the living room. It will easily be 75 to 80 degrees, if not warmer, in the rest of the apartment. You may say, "Oh, Peridot, just get a fan!". I'd love to, but again, I only have one working socket in the one outlet in my bedroom, which is currently occupied by an alarm clock.
7) I do not have drawers in my kitchen. Before I moved in, I was told that my apartment would be finished with renovations. Six months later, still no drawers. When I contacted management about my heat, I brought up the drawer situation, and they said it would be resolved. Still nothing.
8) The warm water is hit or miss. In a 10 minute shower, it's a game of roulette. The water will be consistently warm for about 5 minutes, and then will suddenly become ice cold, and then become warm again after an undeterminable amount of time.
9) Since I'm just complaining now, I'll add that the dishwasher hits a cabinet handle whenever you want to access the dishwasher, so you have to wiggle the dishwasher door away from the handle to open/close it.
10) In the same vein, the oven doesn't always turn on. It's a fun balancing act of how long to hold the ignition and prayers.
It's a shame that the apartments are not up-to-snuff because the natural lighting is incredible, the location is great, and the hardwood floors are lovely. The apartment community is very kind and respectful. You also get A LOT of space for what you're paying (~$1/1 sq ft). Though I guess considering how low the rent is (comparably, of course), it makes sense as to why I have so many issues here.
If I encounter any other issues, I'll write a new review, but hopefully this will be it.
