DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! If I can save one person from a frustrating and disgusting living environment, then my review has served its purpose. I moved into Poplar Place in January 2025. Immediately after moving in, we had major maintenance issues and I already regretted signing our lease. We were told we could move in early, so we did. They told us the tub was not ready to use yet, and we would have to set a date for them to finish spraying the tub. We obliged as we thought it would only be a few days. We were not able to use our tub for almost TWO MONTHS. We were told they didn’t know when corporate would accept the work order for them to finish our tub. That’s unacceptable. Mind you, I was 7 months pregnant and unable to shower in my home for two months. No discount on rent either. When they finally got around to it, it was done poorly and our tub almost immediately started to peel and chip. They redid our tub again and the same thing happened, but this time MOLD started to grow in our tub. I had to go to my moms to shower almost every day because I did not feel comfortable using our tub. Then, the roaches started appearing. We told the office, and they said the exterminators would come. They didn’t. I would go back to the office and they said they must have “forgot”. They put us on the list again, and they didn’t come. This went on for almost another two months. The ceiling above our bathtub started to peel, when I brought this to the office’s attention, they said that the apartments are old. They didn’t do any repairs on it. I never felt comfortable even bathing our baby in the tub in our apartment. Our toilets would get a red ring around the bowl every week or so, we would clean and bleach them and it would still reappear. Never seen anything like it. It was pink MOLD from the water in old pipes that are probably infested with algae or mold. Absolutely disgusting living conditions. Trash dumped outside of our apartment constantly. We did not even wait for our lease to be up, I paid the two months rent and surrendered my security deposit because that was worth us getting out of there. It was that bad. The wood on the outside deck is old and does not feel like it could even withstand my weight. I felt like I would fall through it from just standing on it. Neighbors were loud and constantly yelling and cursing, you could hear it through the walls. Sometimes it would go on until 2am. It was reported to the office as a noise complaint, nothing was done. I cannot emphasize enough to NOT MOVE HERE. I don’t even live here anymore and the only reason for this review is to save someone else from the frustration that I endured while living at poplar place. Absolutely unacceptable and disgusting. Oh, and we were paying them every month for renters insurance, which you would think covers your belongings and property, but it doesn’t. It only covers the building, and if anything were to happen to your belongings, they are not covered by the renters insurance you are paying them. They have the tenants paying for insurance on the building, even though that is the landlords responsibility to pay. This was explained to me by the people in the office. Very shady and a complete scam. The nerve they have to call these “luxury” townhomes when they are the farthest thing from luxurious. But unfortunately nothing will be done, they need to just tear these apartments down. Trust every bad review that you see here for poplar place, as it is a true reflection of what it is like to live here.
