I think I rung his phone off the hook lol, but he always answered when I called giving me step by step on how my 1st home purchase was going and any other questions that I had. Sarah Patton, Kristall Hanson & Doug Patton, were all very helpful as well! They all made me more confident in the process of the selecting & purchasing my new home! Harvey McDonald's company did a great job with the placement & setting up of my home! Craig & Elliot Vinning are superb Warranty Technicians! - CBCee BSep 2, 20255.0Search process: Let me preface this review by saying that most dealerships for the most part have the same homes on their lot or can get you a home that you may have seen at another dealership or online. Now my husband & I looked for homes in Beaufort, Sumter, Savannah, Walterboro and Charleston. I researched not only the style, but also the build quality of the home in order to ensure that the home was structurally sound and low VOC. We stopped in to Oakwood Sumter and met Doug and Tony. Tony showed us homes and answered our questions. Tony is an engaging, upfront and down to earth gentleman. After the tour we went into the office and was introduced to Doug. Doug presented as more serious and earnest. I consider myself as an empath so I immediately felt "safe" with these two gentlemen. They weren't "over selling" us. We continued searching at other dealerships and even left a deposit at another dealership. Long story short, we took back our deposit, returned to Oakwood Sumter and bought our home from them. The home: We made some design changes but for the most part, left it alone. We've been in our home "the Sweet One" for over one year. It is spectacular. Their service partner, Craig, came out to make repairs (minor) and we've been impressed. We simply love our home. More importantly, Tony and Doug are always a phone call away. It's important to buy from reputable, honest, salt of the earth sales people. You're making a huge purchase and want to ensure that the people you are dealing with are professional and respectful to not only you but to the home buying process. Let me add that we are in Beaufort, there is an Oakwood and Clayton dealership here but, as I mentioned, it was important for us to do business with gentlemen who say what they mean and mean what they say. I will always speak highly of them because they showed us respect, sold us a well built home and are decent people. My family and friends know that when they are ready to purchase--Oakwood Sumter will be the ONLY place I recommend and will take them to. If you are in the market for a home, know what you want and want to work with some fair folks--see Tony and Doug. We're happy we did.

Ben, who would’ve been our salesman had we not decided to take a different route was upfront and honest about everything we asked. I asked one specific question at 5 different mobile home dealers and Ben was the ONLY one who was honest about it and even called to explain further. Their customer service and professionalism is unmatched and I’m sad we will not be buying from them due to no fault of their own.

I got the smallest double wide on the lot and they took months on end to build it, I'm not sure why. They don't even keep you up to date on what's going on. get a house off the lot "if you do decide to go with them"and have a lot of patience.
