I am writing to share my recent experience with this leasing department to warn prospective tenants. Despite being fully transparent about our credit scores (570 and 480) from the outset, I was explicitly assured by a leasing agent that the department would not focus solely on credit and that we could qualify through other means. That they would use liberty to help who fail credit scores.
We were applying for a two-bedroom unit at $1,500/month. We easily meet the required income threshold, possess $8,000 in liquid savings, and have a verifiable three-year rental history of paying $2,950/month. Despite this clear financial stability, we were denied.
The process has been a series of obstacles:
Systemic Issues: Our application was trapped in a technical 'loop' for three days, requiring multiple calls to resolve.
Misleading Promises: After denial, the agent offered a partial refund of our $400 in application fees, which will be issued via check—a useless gesture when we have no fixed address.
Revenue Tactics: We were directed to a third-party service to 'dispute' the decision, a move that feels like a stalling tactic rather than a genuine path to approval. It feels as though they are intentionally sucking in applicants, only to pocket the fees and push us off to external services that cannot change the outcome.
right now my family has been forced to move from hotel to hotel since February 3, 2026, currently spending approximately $2,800 a month—nearly double the cost of the rent we were trying to secure.
I am concerned that this office utilizes arbitrary and discriminatory screening practices. I have also observed what I believe to be bias based on political background; if you are a Republican, be aware that your application may be subject to these unfair standards. Do not make the mistake of paying the application fees only to be misled. You have been warned! ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️"
