  My roommates and I were unexpectedly given a 30 day notice to vacate for the house we were renting on a Monday. That night we identified a house managed by Oak Trust Properties that fit our needs and budget. Within a day of completing their application process, Pedro got in touch with us to set up a showing of the house, and let us know more about the process. By Thursday of the same week, we had been approved, and were setting up our move in date. Oak Trust Properties made our stressful situation so much easier to get through with their quick and professional service.

  I really hope someone at OakTrust sees this soon. Just wanted to give a big shoutout to Viviana. Over the last few weeks she was more than patient in dealing with the lovely issue we had. I can’t speak for everyone but just felt that it was important to leave a review. Especially in today’s society where everyone just seems to be focused on the negative of things. Again, a big kudos to Viviana! Thanks again for getting everything handled and fixed for us!

  Oak Trust is, without question, the most incompetent property management company we have ever dealt with. While we were living out of the country, a tree fell onto our home. Oak Trust was notified. They failed to follow up, failed to manage the situation, and failed to protect the property. As a direct result of their inaction, our home was left exposed to rain and the elements for months, causing significant damage that ultimately cost us thousands of dollars in repairs. This is the most basic responsibility of a property manager, and they utterly failed. What makes this worse is the complete lack of accountability. Oak Trust does nothing but pass the buck. No one takes ownership. No one follows through. Communication is nonexistent, and it’s painfully clear that no one internally talks to anyone else. Every interaction feels like starting from zero, explaining the same issue over and over, only to get nowhere. After we finally sold the property and formally terminated services, Oak Trust somehow continued to charge us maintenance fees for a property we no longer owned, despite being clearly informed that the house had been sold. This is not just sloppy and it’s unacceptable. To be clear: there was no actual property management happening at all. Just invoices, excuses, finger-pointing, and neglect. If you want peace of mind, protection of your investment, or even basic competence, do not use Oak Trust. Their failure to act cost us real money, real time, and enormous stress. We would never recommend them to anyone.

  Extremely unprofessional and dishonest company stay far away! Oak Trust Properties has been the most unprofessional company we’ve ever dealt with in owning a rental property in Charleston. Every time you try to call, you’re told the property manager is “in a meeting” and to make matters worse, they don’t even have a proper phone system that allows transfers. You’re left sitting on one line with no help and no answers. We sent multiple emails to staff and even the owners with no response. The lack of follow-through and communication is beyond frustrating, especially when all we wanted were basic updates on our tenant and lease renewal. The final straw was when they tried to charge us for a lease renewal they never completed then claimed they did! Absolutely unacceptable. Dishonest, unreliable, and vindictive because we chose to leave their company. If you value professionalism, integrity, and communication, look elsewhere. Managing a property is stressful enough...Oak Trust will only make it worse!! Stay clear! 👎
