  Crossroads Market Apartments are spacious compared with newer apartments. The grounds are well kept, almost all adult living, and prompt maintenance response. Across the street from shopping, fast food, and other regional and nationally named stores.

  I recently stopped by Crossroads for an impromptu tour to see what they had to offer. I was not entirely impressed by the complex itself, but was compelled to see it in person since I was going to be moving to the area and wanted to keep my options open. Upon entering the pool house/leasing office, I was greeted by the "Regional Property Manager". I told her I was interested in a tour and she seemed hesitant and thrown off by my presence. She pulled out paperwork and asked me how my credit was and if I could pass a criminal background check. She asked me multiple times about being able to "pass" these requirements because she was not going to provide the tour if I could not pass. I ensured her I was able to pass these requirements multiple times. I was already thrown off about how she was treating me as if I did not belong there, which is a lot to say because these are not luxury apartments in the least. She proceeded to give me the tour, her disposition still not quite as pleasant, but not horribly rude. Toward the end of the tour as we walked back to leasing office, she told me they had high expectations of the residents which is why they run background checks/credit checks because, "They don't like trashy people or their trashy problems." I thanked her for her time, and left the complex. I was not pleased with this interaction. I was not pleased with feeling discriminated against for just wanting a tour of an outdated, lacking apartment complex. I would expect this from a luxury apartment complex, if I were honest. Not here. That aside, regardless of what level of luxury this place is, or lack thereof, the way the "Regional Manager" treated me was unprofessional and tacky. To be entirely frank, I would describe her mentality and the way she treated others as "trashy". I would suggest she work on her customer service skills and empathy toward others before she criticized the problems of other people. If they treat people like this upon touring a complex when they should work to earn your business, imagine how they would treat you after you move in.

  Management is aweful. Owner is aweful. DM and RM are aweful. They don’t fix anything. The maintenance man begged me for a streak dinner every time he would fix something in my house. They don’t rent to gay people they can’t keep a manager. Cut grass twice a week wake you up at 8am cutting to. Swimming pool door stays locked it’s a DHEC LAW while pool is open it has to be open.
