- CDChenbo DongNov 12, 20251.0Associa HOA is terrible! I’ve been part of this HOA in Bloomingdale, GA for several years, and it seems their main goal is to issue random fines and collect money from homeowners rather than actually maintain the community. For example, I received a notice in November 2025 to add mulch or pine straw to my lawn. However, I had already installed permanent plastic mulch back in August, which doesn’t need to be replaced for several years. It appears they send out batches of fine notices to all homeowners at certain times. Many owners, not wanting to deal with the hassle, simply pay the fines—making it easy for the HOA to collect money without doing any real work. In addition, the HOA seems to discriminate against out-of-state landlords and investors. They prohibit landlords from using decorative pebbles on their lawns, while allowing local resident homeowners to do so without penalty. It feels like they take advantage of out-of-state property owners who don’t have the time or ability to constantly manage these unnecessary issues.
