Terrible experience. Multiple issues during my stay. The most egregious being contractors coming into my apartment without a 24 hr notice to do drywall work. They did not cover anything in my apartment so everything was coated. The same contractors also used my own supply of latex gloves to do their work. My dishwasher was leaking when I moved in and it took 4 months to get a replacement. Consistently had people smoking in the hallway as well as the occasional screaming domestic match from other residents in the apartment. In addition roaches were plentiful in the hallway staircase and the outside balcony. I would highly recommend seeking a better apartment in Greenville.

Lakecrest was my first apartment, as soon as I walked in I noticed a lot of damage to small things in the apartment. Large scratches on the wall, dents in the ceiling, paint drips on the floor. For the first few months living there was fine, it wasn’t the best but it was a place to live and we made it our home. Around May we got an email stating that we were going to have a contractor “briefly enter your apartment” on the 15th, 16th, and 19th. By briefly, they ment a six hour job on two days and ONE brief entrance on the 19th. The contractors moved our furniture, cut holes in the ceiling, and even used MY HIGHSCHOOL YEARBOOK to hold their spare nails. I was beyond upset at the lack of communication and disrespect for my living space and personal items. I completely understand that matinence and construction happens and in no way am complaining about the work that had to be done, but with a job this invasive and time consuming they were incredibly misleading in their message. The job was in no way “brief”, and when I went to the office to ask how long the job would take the lady at the office spoke to another worker saying “I guess she’s annoyed with how long the job is taking”. Again, I get it, things need to be done but there was NO remorse or apology for their lack of professionalism. Time went on and around August we had a huge leak from our water heater. We had had some issues with the air conditioning leaking before and the matinence came to quickly fix it, even then, after the repairs it happened twice more before the large flooding and I even noticed water dripping from the ceiling into our bedroom from time to time. When they came to repair the large leak they said that the water heater should be reinstalled because repairing it would not permanently fix the issue. When they came back they did not replace it and simply patched it up and air dried the flooding. At this point my boyfriend had already called out of work to keep the water damage from spreading to our belongings. The leak spread through the floor to my closet and my bedroom and everything was soaked and smelt awful. About thirty minutes after they left I was getting ready to leave for work when the heater burst out in smoke and poured boiling hot water all over our floors. We had to quickly remove the fans to not cause an electrical hazard and grab our cats so they would not be harmed by the hot water. Not only was this an EXTREME hazard but after they came once again the clean it up they had to leave extremely loud fans in our apartment for three days and we had to spend the nights at a family’s house because it was unliveable. The work they did was quick and sloppy and there were nails left and wires poking out so far we couldn’t even close the door to the heater. Again when we went to the office they told us they could send us a carpet cleaner, and no apology for the fact that even though they had “fixed” it two times already they had caused a hazard that could have resulted in harm to us and our pets. This also caused us to miss multiple days of work, losing our wages and not even being able to live in an apartment we were paying for. I really wish I could say good things about this place but they lack professionalism and remorse, and I feel potential residents should know this before they consider leasing here. - we also had many other issues including stolen items from our porch and someone smashing the window of my boyfriend’s car. Not to mention the mass amounts of mold that came with the flooding and many other things I simply do not have the energy to include.

I don’t typically leave reviews until after a full experience at a place so there’s a large chance that our feedback may change when it comes time to move out. We have lived here for over a year though and moved from out of state, so as of now, this is current stance and a list of pros and cons: Pros: the office staff, and Alex in particular, is absolutely incredible. They truly do whatever they can to accommodate and work with you, and they are just kind caring people. Maintenance is usually very responsive and friendly too. Location is phenomenal. The layout of the complex is nice, and the lake and scenery as well as wildlife is truly beautiful. We love our townhome and the privacy we have with it Cons: our move in process was a nightmare and while the office truly did everything possible, it was hard to overcome traveling for days to enter your new home and have it filthy and bug infested. We live in an older unit and we chose it for location on property, so we stuck through and allowed the office to do all they could to try and make it home. Being a corporate owned location, bear in mind there are stricter limits they have to follow, and one is they are working to only offer renovated townhomes. unfortunately this means our time in our unit will end within the year so they can renovate. We personally prefer the “outdated” better as a lot of storage is lost, both the coat closet and cabinets in the kitchen for a more open concept. To each their own but we are discouraged after the struggles of move in. In another note, the neighborhood kids can be a bit obnoxious as they are usually out unsupervised and have seen them disrupt wildlife as well as mess with tenants outdoor decor Overall it’s a beautiful location and we know our experience at move in and personal preference for the older unit is likely unique so we still highly recommend the place. The office staff and outdoor trail/scenery in particular is really what sets them apart

My name is Jonathan C and I’ve lived at Lakecrest 2 years now and I’ve had nothing but an amazing experience🙂⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ no other place has been there for me and i visited a lot of different apartments before my cousin referred me to Lakecrest because of the same amazing experience he’s had living here. Anytime I’ve had somthing I need help with they’ve always been there. There was a time i called maintenance and right when I got off the phone with the front desk and ended the call I get a knock on my door & it was the team ready to help🥲 10/10 service doesn’t even begin to explain just how welcomed I feel here and the fact my cousin referred me me here shows that I’m not the only one who feels like this. They always make it fun by throwing events like tonight’s trunk or treat🙂🍫🍬🍭 they had a big bounce house for the kids and many other events for the community. There’s a lake here where you can fish( catch & release) full of blue Gilles and large and small moth bass🐟 not to mention a pool & a tennis court 🎾 & a reck room with a gymn and a pool table and I nice spot around the lake to walk around which I enjoy because it keeps me active and benches by the water to sit and just take in the sun and nature. This place has been extremely healing because most complexes don’t have even half of everything Lakecrest has. And the rents extremely reasonable. There was a time I was sick and had to call 911 and the office reached out to me to make sure everything was ok and if there was anything they could do. I’m from Michigan, so this was a great demonstration of real southern hospitality🙂‍↔️ and the love is genuine. and there’s even a number you can text after office hours with a live AI that’s active 24/7 thst can answer questions and can put in work orders for you and if it’s something it csnt answer they’ll send it to the office so the next day the office knows who to reach out to without you even having to call. No reason to look anywhere else. This is the best spot to live in Greenville and I have a friend who’s a police officer and told me I live in the best spot as far as safety goes because I asked him since I’m not from here where’s the safest area to be and he said where you are😂 he said “ If I was single and didn’t have my house that’s where I’d be” I’m never leaving this place! I’m treated like family here💙🥲

Have had problems since move in including our apartment being entered without knocking by maintenance caught on doorbell camera and inside camera. We were home when this happened and it scared the crap out of us- you knock first before entering anywhere/living situation. Also even though my car taxes were paid and my informational card to pick up my new tags came in the mail they still tried tow my car meanwhile there’s been a white Toyota Camryn in the parking lot that hasn’t had a whole license plate FOR WEEKSSSSS. When we first got the apartment we were told conflicting information about parking spots that had to be clarified later on by me asking which I would have been towed for also bc of management changes that have nothing to do with me. It’s been a head ache living here and I’m not even going into detail. Will review finish at the end of my lease.
