  I adore The Palms! It is perfect for my small family of myself, my husband, and our puppy. I am a student and it is so close to UofSC making my commute a dream. The amenities are excellent with valet trash, a fully fenced in dog run for pets to romp around, a pool and outdoor seating area with games and a tv, and a super handy package room to make sure your items are safe and secure. This came in handy last Christmas when i was out of town and things were arriving from family. We always knew they were safe until we got home. The gym is also fully equipped for any workout you wish to do. It is mostly machines but there is a range of dumbells for some freeweight work. I have found it sufficient when the school gym is inconvenient or closed to replace my usual freeweight workout. The staff are so friendly and helpful! There is nothing I couldn't go to Megan, Jordan, Joseph, or Sam for that they wouldn't go out of their way to help me with. They are truly awesome! They know us all by name, our pets' names, our unit numbers, etc. So personable and sweet! The staff do a highlight event every month from drawing and giveaways to pool parties or pup & sips that I look forward to monthly with the sense fo community they bring to apartment living. The on-site parking downstairs is definitely the most recommended and convenient option especially if you are alone at night or there is bad weather. It makes me feel so safe by myself and is a savior in the rain. The restaurants and bars downtown are so convenient and fun with MOA, Stoner's Pizza, and Sweet Cream being our absolute favorite places to frequent. And we definitely recommend checking out Soda City Market right outside your front door every Saturday year-round for excellent food, music, mercants, and people!

  Great location, nice place, terrible management. Definitely a great place to reside in Columbia as it is right in the heart of town. Unfortunately, I find that many times the management is unavailable. There is typically no one in the office for more than a couple of hours per day, and emails and phone messages have often been overlooked. If there would be more communication and accessibility between residents and management, it would be a 5 star location.

  We relocated to Columbia from Australia in October 2016 and spent our first three months in the US at The Palms. It's a difficult and risky thing moving to a foreign land, but Jackie in our email exchanges and when we lived there was always helpful, friendly and the process was easy. The Palms is a great place to live, the location is divine, close to The Vista, The State House and right on Main St. The other residents are friendly, there is a monthly happy hour and the ambiance is great. On the down side there would be a problem with noise from the gym on the lower levels, we were on level 4 and never heard anything, but choose a time to inspect when a SWEAT class is on. Also we were charged a $500 deposit which they were slow to return. We have since purchased a car and moved out of town to something a little bigger. Notwithstanding the two points mentioned above I would recommend The Palms, we enjoyed out time there.
