I have enjoyed living at The Merchant. Waterton has made several improvements since taking over the property. The staff are wonderful and kind. Maintenance responds to work orders quickly and efficiently. Angela and Jade are friendly, responsive, and helpful with any issues that arise. The apartments and common spaces are clean and updated—for the price point and location it can’t be beat!

I would give this place no stars but google review doesn’t have that option. To say I’ve had a horrible experience living at this place would be a gross understatement. I’ve rented at this apartment complex for 3 years and throughout those 3 years there’s been at like 4 different management companies. The most recent has been the absolute worst by far. The communication is unacceptable as they don’t answer phone calls, return voicemails, or emails unless THEY want something. Maintenance issues would go unresolved for weeks at a time. Over the summer there was a termite issue that management never thought to mention to the people who live here so for weeks there were holes in the walls of the apartment stairwells and from what I understand peoples apartment units. I had a mold and mildew issue in the apartment for MONTHS that was ignored that caused health issues (feeling cold symptoms for months), items of our clothes to be ruined and eventually thrown out or to be dry cleaned. We were promised that we’d be reimbursed for what we were charged at the dry cleaners and never did. Now, I finally got the last bill and they are charging us $500 worth of “damages”. $50 for cleaning a microwave and $50 for cleaning an oven. Hundreds of dollars on ceiling fans that were not broken when we moved out. I have never disliked a place more or the people who manage this place. DESPICABLE. Such a poor excuse for a “luxury” apartment complex this place should be ashamed of themselves for scamming people out of their money and out of a comfortable living space.

After switching management, I promise you don't want to rent here. Utilities can rack up to almost over 200 dollars by itself just from Conservice (they charge for water, sewage, general area electric, trash, pest, and parking has also been increased)- which, under Greystar, was about 50-70 dollars. I had a water leak and mold issue which management took 2 weeks to resolve, which they also tried to blame on me and not reimburse ANY part of the rent for that month until I threatened small claims court. I pay my own rent but they wouldn't respond to my emails until my dad got involved and had to email them about said leak. If you're not on the top floor- you WILL hear your upstairs neighbors clear as day. The buildings are built terribly, with no sound insulation. They're extremely inefficient and it's not worth it. I live in a studio, and for what I'm paying, I know (and am) finding somewhere much more worth my living space and time.
