  BEWARE — NOT SMOKE-FREE. No, I do not recommend. I moved out several months ago and my stress levels dropped tremendously. I lived there for years because of the location, but toward the end new neighbors moved in and constantly smoked cigarettes. It came through my kitchen and primary bathroom to the point I couldn’t use the primary bathroom when they smoked (so we were down to one). I tried everything — air purifiers, smoke spray, boiling lemons and vinegar — and nothing worked. The office was useless and basically said the lease is not smoke-free, so residents can smoke any legal substance (I still have the emails). They also avoided my calls and claimed they never received my emails until I provided proof. Bottom line: until they change the lease, this is a possible issue you may experience. 2nd largest issue — BUGS. Especially American cockroaches/palmetto bugs. It started with one flying and hitting me on the back of my neck, then the sightings exploded. Pest control spraying did not help. I showed them gaps/issues (including at the front door) and they said there was nothing they could do. I eventually found a source myself using a tape trap: check the door with the hot water heater — there was a hole they were coming through. They are in the walls!!! Maintenance filled the hole and that cut down on sightings, but they told me if it had been in a different area, they might not have been able to do anything. Also check the ceiling vents — I saw them coming from there too. Landscaping mulch doesn’t help either. There was spacing underneath doors (worms got in), and I had spiders at one point that seemed to come from the ceiling vents. It was just a lot in that apartment, but I needed the location. Now there are more options in the area — please choose one of those. Noise: poor insulation, and there are a lot of large dogs. Be prepared to hear stomping above you (pets or no pets), and the bigger dogs only multiply the sound. You can also hear between walls. Parking: fills up — get back early. Positives: great location (near interstate, grocery stores, etc.). Maintenance was timely. Older apartments, but the space/layout was fine (I had a corner unit). Overall: AVOID, especially if you need smoke-free living.

  I recently moved into Walden Oaks and I absolutely love it! The apartment itself is beautiful and exactly what I was looking for. The staff have been so sweet and welcoming from day one, especially Marcus who was my main contact. Because of him I decided to choose Walden :) all of my questions were answered and the move in process was smooth and stress-free. I recommend to anyone looking for a great place to call home.

  Marcus is amazing!! Very helpful and I always enjoyed talking to him. The apartments are really nice and quiet!
