  I came to the yards with me and my family to see if the yards would be a potential places to be living in and after touring the places and also being surrounded by an amazing staff I ended up signing up and it was the best decision and experience and hopefully I will have a good stay but overall 5/5 experience

  I’ve had a great experience living here. The apartments are clean, modern, and well-maintained. The location is super convenient, and everything I need is close by. The staff is friendly and responsive whenever I have questions or need help. Overall, it’s a comfortable and safe place to live. Highly recommend!

  Such a gorgeous area with the mountainous landscape. Great sense of community with something always going on. The properties are well-maintained and kept up with. The Clubhouse is a great space for literally anything from studying to hosting/attending events. So glad to be a part of The Yards.

  I have lived at The Yards at Old State for almost two years now, and I’ve already signed my lease for another year. It’s honestly one of the best places to live in State College. The houses are amazing, and the floor plans are very well designed, all at fair rates. If you enjoy running or staying active like me, there are many nearby places where you can run or bike, which I really love. The gym here is also well-equipped, which makes it easy to stay consistent with workouts. Another thing I really appreciate is the maintenance service. Whenever you need something fixed, you can submit a request in the morning, and it’s usually taken care of by the end of the day. That level of responsiveness makes a big difference. Overall, it’s a great place to live, and I would definitely recommend it.

  I am a second year resident at The Yards and, unfortunately, cannot recommend this complex based on my experience. During my time here, I have encountered numerous ongoing issues, including frequent maintenance problems, extended WiFi outages, lack of access to laundry facilities for over a month, lost packages, disorganization within the housing office, limited access to amenities, and parking challenges. Most recently, I experienced a serious issue with rent payments. Although I am enrolled in a third party split payment plan, the full month’s rent was withdrawn from my account without notice. The payment system still reflects an upcoming scheduled payment, while the unexpected withdrawal has left my account overdrawn and accruing daily fees. Despite reaching out, the finance department has stated they are unable to resolve or reimburse the situation. This is extremely challenging, considering I am an independent full time student that needs to work full time to just make ends meet. After this event, I am now unable to pay any further bills now that my account is over 1k in the negatives due to this problem. No student should be forced to give up generalized necessities over a payment mistake with a college apartment housing office. Overall, I have found a consistent lack of accountability in addressing both operational and financial concerns. This situation has caused significant financial hardship, impacting essential expenses such as insurance, phone service, and groceries. For those seeking reliable off-campus housing, I would recommend exploring other options. Based on my experience, The Yards has not met reasonable expectations for service or support.
