  HMF is a great place to live - I've been here for 7 years now (!!). The resident manager, Elma, is extremely helpful in taking care of issues, managing package deliveries, and runs great resident events. We have great staffing to support maintenance issues that are available 24/7 and take care of problems in a timely manner. We have a gym, lounge, outdoor patio with grill, bike storage room, coffee bar, and pet area, as well as an attached, indoor parking garage. The location is convenient for so many reasons: it's <10 minutes from Oakland, right off of 376, and in a clean and safe area of town. South Side Works is right next door, which features an REI, coffee shop, and Cheesecake Factory, to name a few perks, in addition to being a square that hosts numerous events over the summer. Truly a great place to live!

  I've lived here for nearly a year and I really enjoyed the experience. First thing you notice when you walk into the building is it smells fresh. I noticed they've got plug-in air fresheners throughout the common areas which is such a nice touch. I love my room with wooden floors throughout, and honestly the soundproofing between units is incredible. I almost never hear any noise from neighbors, which is pretty rare for apartment living. Elma in the leasing office (manager) is awesome! She's so easy to talk with, super friendly, and gets back to me quickly whenever I have questions about my lease or anything else. She really made the whole renting experience so much smoother. It's a really welcoming community. The only thing need to mention about is that there's a train track near Hot Metal Bridge, and you can hear trains passing by sometimes. If you're a light sleeper, I'd recommend asking for a unit on the opposite side of the building away from the tracks. If I ever move back to Pittsburgh, I'd 100% live here again. Highly recommend Hot Metal Flats if you're looking for a place in the southside area!

  I can’t say enough great things about our apartment at the Hot Metal Flats and especially, our property manager, Elma. She does an amazing job keeping the community clean, well maintained, and welcoming at all times. The common areas are always spotless, and it’s clear she truly cares about the residents and the overall environment. Highly recommend the Hot Metal Flats to anyone looking for a clean, friendly, and well managed community.

  Living in Hot Metal Flats is amazing, beyond the wonderful amenities and beautiful apartments, the attention to detail and atmosphere that the management office created for tenants makes the experience all the more enjoyable. Elma Dunlevy is our manager and she is so kind, very quick to address any type of question or request—even when she is out of office! She also is so thoughtful about putting together fun social events like S’more’s Bonfire Night, Halloween Costume Party, and happy hours at nearby food and drink establishments. It is so great for members of the HMF community to get to know each other and enjoy the shared spaces. I’ve really enjoyed living here and plan on continuing to do so because of the special work that Elma does for all us :)

  I’ve had a great experience living here. The building is well maintained, comfortable, and truly feels like home. A huge part of that is the building manager, Elma. She is absolutely amazing. She is attentive, friendly, and always quick to help with anything that comes up. She also hosts the best community events, which really bring everyone together and make living here even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this building.
