One of the sales people explained how it worked and my girlfriend applied for credit approval which she got. They said once we got that we could locate a lot and when we found it, we could put down a refundable $2500 ( to make sure we were serious he said) for them to go give us the ok to buy and start the process. So we found a lot. Sent the money and waited. After bugging them a couple weeks they said there was a problem with the lot that they may be able to resolve but in the meantime they asked: was there any other lots that we were interested in? We sent 3. We heard nothing back for 5 weeks in that time all three lots were purchased by other people. So we sent a message. 'hey we wanted a house but if you don't want to build us one can you send us a refund" paraphrase obviously. The guy says ok I'll start the refund tomorrow. So we can't figure out why they didn't want to build it for us. Is it because my girlfriend was disabled? It's like they didn't care at all. Not excuses. No argument. Just ok. Here's your money, we didn't want to do it anyway.
