Nunca rentes aqui. Busca otro lugar

If you’re looking at renting an apartment here at rolling hills, here’s a small look into my experience over the last 15 months.
The apartments are old. They’ve been hit with the landlord special at least 4 times over. They still smell like cigarettes, I’m assuming from when smoking inside was allowed back in the 70s. I don’t think the carpet or wood floors have ever been renovated.
The walls are so thin you’ll be able to hear your neighbors having dinner. Or in my case you’ll be able to hear babies cry, neighbors scream at each other, and banging on the walls. I was on the third floor so every time someone used the stairs my apartment shook. I pulled the nails out that were holding up my artwork and the tips of them were rusted from being outside. Pretty sure the walls are just drywall, plywood and then drywall again.
During the summertime there are some migratory birds that nest in the stairwells. They produce a mountain of poop. It smells worse than the cigarette carpet. They will pressure wash the stairs once at the end of the season. If your apartment is like mine, the sealant on the door will be so old that you’ll come home to a puddle inside your front door. They do have a pool open for 3 months during the summer! But it will be filled with children until 10pm and it will be shut down for a couple weeks from broken glass or broken filters.
There’s approximately 6 visitor spaces and it’s nearly impossible to get one. They have laundry on-site but each load of laundry costs 4 dollars. There isn’t a laundry room in every building so they are often full/ in use. The machines break often and there have been emails about tenants moving/ taking clothes that aren’t theirs.
During the wintertime, there’s nothing done for snow. It’s a steep property, so without maintenance shoveling or applying salt, cars were getting stuck or sliding into parked cars.
These apartments don’t feel safe either. You get one deadlock on your front door. The frame on my unit looked like it had been kicked in and broken at some point. I once woke up to my neighbor on my balcony looking in my sliding glass door at 6am. I live on the 3rd story. He said he got locked out of his place and climbed up to try his back door and then he climbed over the wall to his side. Sketchiest thing I’ve ever woken up to.
I was charged approximately $50 per month more than what they had quoted me for utilities. I’d like to note that during the last 3 months I spent more than 50% of my time at my partners place. Still the same cost in utilities. Upon moving out they charged me the entirety of my security deposit for carpet cleaning. I wouldn’t live in these buildings again if THEY paid ME rent to stay there. Would highly recommend finding any other apartment complex to stay at.

Terribly unprofessional and shady management could not be more displeased with the way they not only run the complex but the way they treat the tenants when they have an issue or become disgruntled. Parking is non existent and due to being grandfathered into a law keeping them from having to offer more than 1 spot for even 3 bedroom households thay might have ultiple cars. We are told to use visitor parking but bevause its such am issue visitor is never available after 6pm ish.. Staff has even directed us to park in illegal areas and had people towed because of them. And thats just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this place...
