I feel like I'm part of the community when I there with my parents. It's my home away from home

My folks live at KCSV. They are treated well and there is always something fun going on. My husband and I recently spent time there after losing power, tv & Internet. We were treated like family. We can't say enough good about the staff. Thanks can't begin to say how much we appreciate everyone there. Blessings ya'all!!
My uncle used to live here when it was called Pacific Pointe. He moved to another community and was ready to start looking again to be closer to me. When we learned that it had a new name, remodeled and a new Executive Director we were very excited. So we took a tour and fell in love! He is moving in next week!
What we liked:
Our first impression of the staff and the Executive Director, JJ, was excellent. My uncle and I have toured many Independent Living Facilities over the past 6 years and we've never felt so welcomed. Neither one of us felt like it was a show either. We observed how the other residents interacted with them and it appeared to be a genuine, regular thing. No one was ignored and they called everyone by their first names as they passed by. This impressed me because who wants their loved one in a place that pays them no attention or concern. They even made a point to re-introduce my uncle to residents that he knew from when he lived there before. They were very welcoming and grateful that he was coming back.
The food was excellent! It was flavorful and both of us got what we wanted. The meal wasn't an institutional meal either. They were made with fresh ingredients. The waitress who took our order and brought us our food and drinks was friendly, patient and very caring. They offer a full dining experience or you can sit in the Bistro area for a more casual dining experience. Everything was clean, sanitized and spotless. Three meals are offered which makes me happy knowing that my uncle doesn't have to fend for himself for any meal. My uncle is pretty picky when it comes to food. So when he looked at the standard menu that is always available and there were at least 4 items that my uncle liked he was elated. They also have a menu that changes every week which all sounded very yummy to me.
When walking around the facility there were sanitizers everywhere. Everything looked clean and tidy, but not institutional clean and tidy. My uncle said it just felt like "home". We both felt very comfortable.
The apartments are the perfect size. We loved how they remodeled them. They are up to date, clean and well maintained. We also like that they have an emergency pull cord in every apartment and an intercom as well for easy communication about events and other happenings. His last place didn't have that and he felt left out quite often and didn't feel very safe if he fell.
King City Senior Villages are follow all the guidelines for COVID which was very impressive and made our decision to move there easy. I am happy to have him close by me once again and he is happy to be moving into an uplifting, happy and caring environment.
I urge you to see for yourself and take a tour with your loved one! You won't be sorry!
My visit to King City was during their Fathers Day celebration. The food was prepared by Chef Stefan and it was delicious! it included breakfast and brunch, all nice and hot and perfectly cooked. The servers were very busy and still so accommodating, as well as thorough in their duties. I saw each of them smiling and heard them being so kind to the residents and family guests. The residents I was able to chat with were having such a good time. I was so impressed by Chainsaw Jack, who carved their community a bear bench, with a chainsaw! I also noticed the Executive Director, JJ, helping his entire team throughout the day. What a wonderful time and a wonderful place!
