We lived at Centro Apartment for about one year and one month and recently moved out. While our time living there was generally fine, our move-out experience was extremely disappointing.
After moving out, our entire $500 security deposit was withheld, and we were charged additional fees on top of that. We were billed for general cleaning, carpet cleaning, interior painting, and carpet replacement.
The most concerning issue was a claim of “urine saturation” in the carpet. We did not have pets or children in the apartment. We left the unit cleaned and took photos right before returning the keys. Management stated that staining was found under a UV light and sent us photos as evidence. However, the photos provided do not identify our apartment in any way. They simply show carpet under blue light, with no visible room features, walls, layout, or unit identifiers. It is impossible to tell from those images that the carpet shown is actually from our unit.
Another issue was the carpet lifespan calculation. The document stated the carpet had been used for 1304 days, even though we only lived there about 410 days. The explanation given was based on a prorated lifespan model, but it was still surprising to see such a large charge tied to something we did not caused.
Communication was another issue, and at one point the team stopped replying to our messages altogether. We had to repeatedly request clarification before receiving detailed explanations.
For anyone planning to move out:
Take detailed, time-stamped photos and videos of every room.
Document walls, carpets, baseboards, appliances, and inside closets.
Keep written communication.
Ask for detailed invoices and depreciation breakdowns.
We never had deposit issues at previous apartments, so this experience was unexpected. Living there was fine, but the move-out process left a negative impression.
Just sharing this so future residents can be fully prepared.
