    I want to say, I am extremely disappointed with the way things are handled here. When I was touring Montara Park I got a tour from Cami Little. Great girl, but she had let me and my mom know that they are doing a month off with giving out $650 gift cards to the first 50 people that sign up. I asked her if I signed up would I be able to get that gift card and she said yes. That was in July. I’ve asked multiple times about it with updates and either the ladies at the front desk have no idea, lie (“it will be done by next week”), and/or they will always just say “we’re working on it”. Well it’s February and it’s been more than seven months and I still haven’t gotten my $650 gift card yet. I even spoke to Kayla Wallis, the manager who’s supposed to be handing out the gift cards and she said that she was having a hard time retrieving it. That was in November. I’ve been waiting and waiting and honestly at this point I feel like I’m not even going to get it. This offer was one of the reasons why I decided to sign my lease here. I’m just really disappointed in how the management is run here at Montara Park and I just want my gift card.

    I want to point out something important about Montara Park’s reviews. Montara Park recently replied to a reviewer claiming that they do not offer any incentives, gifts, or discounts in exchange for writing reviews. That statement is simply false. I have attached proof directly from their official Instagram page, where they promote raffles and gift giveaways for residents who leave a good Google review. They clearly encourage people to post “honest” positive reviews in order to enter these raffles. This explains why their online ratings often don’t reflect the actual resident experience. Many of the positive reviews are written by people hoping to win gifts, or possibly by staff, friends, or relatives. I lived at Montara Park for two years. During the first year, when it was still Campus Lodge, things were fine. But after the CARDINAL Group took over, the quality of management and living conditions seriously declined..The front desk girls are very very RUDE AND UNHELPFUL I’ve since moved elsewhere and the difference has been huge. Just be cautious and don’t rely only on the star ratings when deciding.

    I toured a few weeks ago and came back with one of my roommates to show her the property. We did the self-guided tour, but Kaitlyn at the front desk was super helpful with all of our questions and even offered us free t-shirts. The property is pretty and great if you're looking for a 4 bedroom with low rates

    The front desk staff are rude, unhelpful .Every question u ask them is met with “send an email “ reply yet emails never get answered and calls are rarely picked up, making the front desk essentially useless. Many of the positive Google reviews seem to come from incentives like gift cards or free coffee, which explains the disconnect between the ratings and the real experience.     I had a very disappointing experience with Montara Park, Norman, specifically regarding my security deposit refund. I moved out on July 31 and was informed that I would receive my $500 security deposit within 45 days, which should have been by mid-September. To avoid missing the check, I even leased another apartment in Norman for about one and a half months after moving out. Despite this, I received no check and no proper communication. The front desk girls at Montara Park are extremely unhelpful and rude. Every time I asked for help, they gave the same response: “Email the accounting manager.” They showed no ownership, no empathy, and frankly seemed unaware of basic processes. I emailed the accounting manager multiple times starting September 15 August but most responses were automated or generic excuses like being out of office or having a high volume of emails. There was no concrete update, no accountability, and no resolution. When I raised this again with the front desk, I was told they “can’t do anything.” After the 45-day period passed, I moved to New Jersey and had to escalate the issue to Cardinal Group admin and other teams due to the lack of response. I was told the check was mailed, but I never received any confirmation or tracking details. This supposedly happened twice. I was receiving all other mail at my address without any issue, which makes the situation even more questionable. Eventually, after months of follow-ups, repeated emails, calls, and escalations, I requested the check be sent via tracked or premium mail. Only then did I finally receive my deposit on December 22, almost five months after moving out. Even then, no tracking number was ever shared. The entire process was stressful, time-consuming, and completely avoidable. Chasing my own money for months should not be part of any tenant’s experience. If you value professional management, timely refunds, and basic accountability, think very carefully before choosing Montara Park. Getting your security deposit back here is far more difficult than it should ever be.
