This place is very actively maintained; I’ll give it that! I do not recommend living here if you prefer quiet during the day instead of loud construction noises in the adjacent units. Throughout my one year of living here, it seems like every month they decide to embark on a new construction project. Above me, below me, wherever—as long as it involves a lot of hammering that vibrates my whole unit. This is not the kind of disturbance that one could drown out with white noise/music. It’s the kind of thing where once I hear hammering at 7am, I might as well just leave for the day and find somewhere else to work/study/sleep, because it’s a “hammering day,” and my unit is basically uninhabitable. There’s been about ten of these throughout my stay at The Kerwin. The property manager’s response to my complaint: “I understand this can be frustrating. I will make sure we keep our nosiy work to reasonable hours.” (In other words, just find a good pair of earmuffs, and keep on paying your rent like a good boy.) The construction issue is by itself a good summary of how this place is run. The five-dollar pieces of “modern artwork” spanning every wall of the entire building. The cheap furniture and high bang-for-buck upgrades to the common areas. The overpriced laundry machines, most off which are broken (management cannot issue refunds). Look, there’s nothing wrong with trying to make money, but I’ve never felt this “shaken for every penny” at any other place in my life. One time they advertised a LIMITED TIME PROMOTION where they would install a washer and dryer in your unit and the only catch is you have to pay an additional $150/month in rent to enjoy this privilege! That just shows you the atmosphere here. Constant penny pinching with no shame, and rents are high for what you get. It does feel insulting at times. I recommend living somewhere else.

We came across this apartment when we moved here in Cleveland from the south and stayed here ever since. Had we not bought a new home, we will definitely continue living here. It is very close to shops, malls, parks, and everything we need, including a 3-min walk to Heinens and CVS. The best part are the convenience and safety these apartments has to offer. We lived in the 5th floor and had no problems with water or whatsoever. Very peaceful, clean, well-maintained and it is every bit of a home for us. We will definitely miss this beautiful place.
