- MCMichael CombsJan 16, 20261.0The overall process wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t amazing either. We had a few issues, including our loan officer randomly quitting during the process and no one knowing about it. We weren’t able to move forward because we couldn’t sell our current home within the required timeframe, which obviously wasn’t Ryan’s fault. We met with Ashley and her manager to see if they would reduce the purchase price so we could lower our home and improve our chances of selling. We asked for a $10k reduction, but the manager was very unwilling to work with us and said the most they could offer was $5k, so we reduced our home by $5k and it still didn’t sell. The house we were going to buy is now listed at $10k less than what we were under contract for. At the time, we were really disappointed because we had become attached to the home and the idea of living in that community. Then we found out the community was being advertised about $50k less than our original contract price, and the price dropped that quickly after it was listed, which made it even more frustrating. Looking back, especially considering how unwilling the manager was to work with us and how fast prices dropped after listing, we’re honestly glad it didn’t work out. It truly feels like we dodged a bullet and could have ended up like the other house in the community that’s been on the market for over a year if we needed to sell in the future.

Mike was able to answer everything we threw at him! He even surprised us with a video of the ground breaking to start our home. The experience with Mike and the rest of the Ryan Homes team has been great and we can’t wait to call this new community home!
