I’ve lived at this apartment for four years now. Each year they’ve increased the rent and never added anything extra in value. The first two years were fine and the staff was very helpful. However, they changed management and things started getting worse. The property has been under “renovations” ever since with some new issue each week. I have had a heating issue for two winters now and they claim it’s “fixed” because it’ll kick on for 5 mins then shut off for 4 hours, last winter it would kick on just enough to keep the thermostat above 65. I am so happy to finally be getting out of this place.

I have been a resident of Castlewood for nearly 6 months, this well situated property is ideal for enjoying all of the benefits of living in the Lakewood/Rocky River area with easy access to downtown and the airport. During the time I've lived here I've had occasion to request a couple of small maintenance issues be addressed such as slow water drain, window screen repair. The response time was nothing short of amazing, same day. Within the hour, a friendly and knowledgeable building employee was knocking on my door to make a quick fix of the situation. Dealing with the property manager and rental agent is a pleasure. They are respectful, kind, and genuinely interested in keeping the residents happy and Castlewood a comfortable place to call home. Ongoing improvements to the building make me confident that ownership is enthusiastic about keeping this property a prime rental option for the area.

Never lived here, but did take a tour with my partner as we were considering this complex. Front office personnel were extremely kind and informative. Building itself along with amenities seemed very nice. Only negative was the pricing structure. They claim to base initial rent prices on how many leases are expiring during that time period but this can cause an exorbitant monthly upcharge. Depending on when the lease is signed, within a matter of a few days or a week or two rent could increase anywhere from $400-$700 per month. They also don't want people signing 12 month leases which is pretty inconvenient. I understand these are luxury apartments, but the reasoning for this doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I really enjoyed living here. I rented my apartment from a distance but Lisa gave me a personal video tour that convinced me Castlewood would be my best choice. Sherri, Lisa, and the rest of the staff made me feel welcome and part of the community. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. The units are spacious with a washer and dryer and I loved having a garage for parking. Lakewood is a great community and Castlewood is a great place to live.
