  I have been a resident of Adelphi for over 6 months. I was on the fence about writing a review; however, after what I witnessed last night, I felt compelled to do so. At about midnight, I was awakened by what sounded like an argument. When I looked out the window, I could see what appeared to be another tenant arguing with several people who had left their cars running in the parking lot. The verbal argument turned into a physical altercation (a blatant violation of the lease) and one of the drivers proceeded to tear through the ENTIRE parking lot hitting at least THREE vehicles, seriously damaging a truck. By the grace of God, my own car NARROWLY escaped the path of destruction! To say that I was mortified is an understatement!! The entire sequence of events was horrific and terrifying and I believe it was totally preventable. There was no security patrol on site and the security gates were not deployed. We were notified that the parking concession would end at the end of November; however, given the totality and nature of all the crimes that have occurred on this lot, I feel that concession should be extended through the end of the year. I love my apartment but I DO NOT FEEL SAFE HERE!!! Both property managers (past and present) have been great and the maintenance staff does a good job; however, I will not be renewing my lease. It’s a shame that I cannot take advantage of the referral promotion, but these apartments are grossly unsafe and I would not recommend them to anyone.
