I enjoyed my time at 629 Lofts. After a year in a one bedroom unit, I found it to be a pretty solid setup. Since I still live downtown, what I’ll miss most is walking through the beautiful lobby of the Holiday Inn Express, it really added a nice touch to the overall experience. I chose not to renew my lease mainly because I was looking for a few features that 629 Lofts doesn’t offer: windows that open for fresh air, an in-unit washer and dryer, and more convenient parking. All of my appliances worked well when I needed them, and I never had any major issues during my stay. The gym was a nice perk, and the rooftop amenity on 4th Street was definitely unique. Big expansive windows allowed for lots of natural light. Parking was a big challenge. I highly recommend using the 6th Street Beacon garage above Potbelly; it's much easier to navigate. The parking that’s advertised with 629 Lofts is very tight, steep, and has low clearance, which would make it tough for any vehicle. Overall, I had a good experience living here and would recommend it to others, especially if those few features I was looking for aren’t deal breakers for you.

I have lived here almost 3 years and I strongly disagree with all the negative reviews bombing this place. For a place in downtown Cleveland around $1k/month this can't be beat and I've been very happy with the place or I wouldn't have stayed here 3 years. Pros: Responsive maintenance Central location Clean common areas, cleaned pretty much daily Fitness center and communal space for 1k/month?! Cons: Parking. This sucks pretty much anywhere downtown. You can park where you want, but the cheapest is the theatrical garage and it is pretty bad. Parking is not included pretty much anywhere downtown so this isn't really a negative, just par for the area. No security staff: It's in a better part of downtown but there are always sketchy people at night anywhere in Cleveland. The entrance doors to each floor are locked but some people expect a downtown apartment to have security as well. If you want a place that has 24/7 security staff you have to pay a lot more rent than $1,000/month. Overall I think the upsides greatly outweigh the downsides for me personally and would recommend these apartments for someone looking for an affordable place downtown.

If I could give this zero stars I would. There are so many nightmares and discrepancies that I have had to deal with during my time living here, please take this as a warning or a sign to look elsewhere. Do not be fooled by any of the “nice” pictures shown on the website or views in-person. The flooring is an absolute nightmare as it is not installed correctly and I have had weird things pop up through the floors resulting in holes in areas where there isn’t furniture remotely close to them. The all-white countertops and sink stain very easily. The fridge is extremely small and has broken on multiple occasions. Hundreds of dollars worth of food down the drain. We literally had to buy our own mini fridge and store most of our food in there due to the inconsistent temperatures that our “new” fridge has. The washer and dryers CONSTANTLY break. $1.25 per wash/dry adds up really fast when you are running multiple cycles because they still don’t work correctly after being “fixed”. In addition to all of this, you get the renter’s special, having the windows painted and rusted over all the edges, which is a huge fire hazard that I will be reporting prior to moving out. Our windows have huge cracks running down the bottoms of them, which there was absolutely zero way we could have caused this. When it rains, water drips down the ledge, causing yet another fire hazard as there are outlets below the windows. Our AC also broke three times during the summer, and not being able to open our windows at all, our apartment reached upwards of 85 degrees, for multiple days at a time. I’m not done yet, do not expect to park at the lot they partner with. It is an old office building that they converted into a garage. My SUV could not make the turns to go up to the fourth floor, and the hills are practically as steep as a roller coaster. They say the building is secure, but after hours you can easily pry open the sliding doors when they are “locked”. The vale workers do this all the time from the hotel and Marble Room if they don’t have their keys or remember their codes. It’s extremely concerning considering I have been harassed and cat called on multiple occasions right outside these doors, and knowing that any of those people could see how easy it is to get into the building through the back entrance is terrifying. When calling about any of these issues, prepare to get disconnected or sent to voicemail with no call back. Get ready for passive-aggressive emails and unprofessional management. I have included pictures to back up these claims. To anybody reading this, not take this lightly. Please do not waste your time or money.
