Lived here for a year. Do not move here unless you want human feces outside your door on the way to work in the morning, “your local alcoholic” homeless man heckling you every time you get home from work, and spiders and centipedes in your apartment no matter how many times you spray. I also heard gunshots in the alley beside the apartment building last month. Downtown Cleveland is unsafe and the prices you pay to live here are not a fair tradeoff for a dead, crime-ridden downtown and non-updated, antiquated apartment. Also, I asked where the gym was in person twice and by email once when I moved in and all times I was told it’s in one of the nearby buildings and brushed off for further details. They don’t have a gym. If you are a resident at university hospitals or Cleveland Clinic thinking this might be the place, think again.
Edit: I forgot to mention the WiFi. You’re required to pay $70 for WiFi through the apartment complex’s website. It constantly cuts out, making it so difficult to watch any streaming services like Netflix. My boyfriend tried to work from home when he visited (while I was busy at work, so only one person trying to use wifi), and every time he had to go to the local cafe (lion heart coffee, definitely recommend) just to get adequate wifi. I gave up and had to fork out more money to buy a hotspot through Verizon. On top of the required $70 for the useless wifi that comes with the apartment.

I've just completed a six year tenancy at East 4th (and a total of eight years in Downtown Cleveland), and my experience with my apartment and MRN have been second to none. I thoroughly enjoyed being a resident, and the East 4th experience was a blast. I'm only leaving East 4th because my lifestyle is bringing me out to the 'burbs. I'd strongly encourage you to consider East 4th, which has become a budget friendly alternative to the very, very expensive new apartment options around town. Despite that, East 4th has remained a viable Class-A community and it represents the perfect balance of real downtown living at a reasonable price. I cherish my time, and that chapter of my life, spent at East 4th and you will too.

Never had an issue with a rental company until MRN. Moved into an apartment on east fourth that was filthy, appliances weren't working, etc. and took weeks to be fixed. Throughout my lease term the maintenance men routinely tracked dirt onto my area rug and the company refused to clean or replace it. Consistently had a bug/centipede problem that was never resolved. The ceiling was crumbling onto my couch and destroying it, company attempted to fix it but ultimately didn't stop the crumbling. Heat was turned off for a weekend when the temperatures outside fell to 37 degrees F, I complained and they gave me space heaters. I didn't feel comfortable using them as it is a fire hazard in an old building and this would create a large expense. After complaining about not providing heat in cold temperatures, they delivered me a notice the following business day stating I could not renew my lease. They also stated they would deduct the cost of cleaning the carpet in their unit from my security deposit once my lease was over, despite keeping the carpet clean throughout my lease term and no mention of this deduction in the original lease contract. Ironically enough, their company routinely soiled my area rug during maintenance calls and never cleaned it. Parking fees went up during lease, which is anticipated, but the parking garage was never clean enough to see the dividing lines. I was shown an apartment with hardwood floors but moved into a unit with unlevel concrete. Very difficult company to deal with, the rent is reasonable for the area but it is not worth the headache. Expect to move into a filthy apartment, not have anything fixed adequately, and you will have to fight for your security deposit back.
EDIT: In response to the company’s comment, I lived in the complex from 2016 to late 2017. The apartment owners and staff are the same, do not be fooled.

Worst management company I've ever experienced.
Rigidly bureaucratic policy, poor service, rude staff, but most importantly, they are an absolute racket when moving out. Do not expect to get your security deposit returned, but expect to be charged an additional $5,000 - $10,000 regardless of how nice you leave it. Upon inquiring into the itemized list of repairs, it showed that they completely renovated the unit and forwarded me the bill. Upon contesting this, I was told it had already been sold to a collections agency and to take it up with them. I strongly encourage you to consider other options when looking for a place to live.
