I'll start with the positives: The location is amazing, the units have massive windows and beautiful painted brick, and the maintenance staff is super kind, helpful, and prompt.
Unfortunately, I still can't recommend living here due to the policies and treatment of residents by the corporate owners. In the last several years, things have gone downhill.
Promised amenities became run down or were entirely removed with no justification. Things as simple as a $10 replacement part for a machine in the gym took months to get approved, and only after my husband literally emailed them a link to the part. The lobby desperately needs a fresh coat of paint, and the package room is a mess. It just doesn't feel well cared for.
The biggest thing is that it feels like the NAP corporation is actively trying to rob you at every turn. A few examples:
When we upgraded to a bigger unit, we were given one price at the showing and agreed to take the unit the same day. When we saw a meaningfully higher price on the lease, we were told that we'd waited too long and the price had gone up.
A pet fee we'd been told was a one-time payment was added back onto our monthly bill.
When we needed to terminate our lease early after 7 years of being reliable and respectful tenants, we were given the run-around about exactly how much the fees would be until we formally announced our departure, then it unsurprisingly turned out to be astronomical and way above the standard market rate. Then we were charged the full rate of our last month of rent despite only being there a week, and it took multiple calls and emails to get refunded the money that had been taken from us. It felt like a hostage negotiation, with my husband and I playing the part of the hostages.
These things got resolved, but only after we had to fight and argue for our rights as tenants. It was exhausting. Even if the leasing staff wanted to help us out, I don't think they'd be allowed to. In each of these instances, it felt like the company was trying to steal from us and just hoping we weren't vigilant enough to notice. And frankly, it might have worked if my husband and I weren't an accountant and an economist who are close friends with a housing lawyer.
We really loved our unit and the location, but I felt so disrespected by the time I left that I can't in good conscience recommend living here to anyone else.

I love this place. I had the pleasure visiting and doing business with Ms. Ciara Luciano. Ciara was very professional and easy to speak with. Always helpful and informative. I hear a smile whenever we spoke on the telephone. Always smiling in person too.

Living here has been a huge disappointment. The walls are extremely thin, and the building constantly hosts Airbnbs, so it’s loud at all hours. For what they charge, the experience is absolutely not worth it.
The elevator is always breaking, and somehow they try to add fees to your account for their broken equipment. The amenities are misleading at best, there’s no on-site gym; it’s actually located across the street in a completely different apartment complex.
Packages go missing regularly, and management doesn’t seem to take it seriously. There are far better places to live downtown than this one. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.

I have lived in East 8 Lofts for the last year and I have loved it. The old fashioned building and the apartment with exposed brick, exposed pipes, and high ceilings were really my style. My apartment was very spacious and had a unique layout. Because it is an old building, we could hear the upstairs neighbor walking around and the downstairs neighbors when they were playing music or watching movies. The community washer/dryer in the basement made doing laundry more difficult however there almost always are machines available and its free! Having the gym across the street was also frustrating, especially when it is cold outside. The other amenities were great. I loved using the movie theatre room and playing pool/Ping-Pong in the basement. The leasing office members are incredibly nice and constantly trying to update and fix things. The new park is fantastic and the community here is great. We plan on staying with this company for our entire time in Cincinnati.
