Very nice pool and club house. Excellent and prompt responses from maintenance. Office staff very helpful and professional. Soundproofing between floors not good-can be somewhat noisy if you are on a bottom floor. - From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings

I had lived at Bishops Gate at Somerset for 7 years - 3 years in 1 bed and 4 years in 2 beds. I can say I was fortunate to live there from a married couple with no kid to 2 kids. It's been a month since I moved out, and I am writing this review hoping to help anyone consider moving to the area. Location - It's the best location in Northeast Cincinnati area. You simply cannot beat this unless you have to live in downtown area or closer. Easy access to I-71 and I-275. People don't realize it's easier to get on I-275 from here using Kemper instead of using Montomery Rd. or Snider Rd. Those two roads are too crowded during rush hours. You are within 10 minutes driving of Kroger, Costco, Target, Whole Foods, Super Walmart, Aldi, Meijer, and numerous restaurants, not mentioning other shopping centers and facilities. Sharonville, Cottell, and Weller parks are also with in 10 minutes. The city's two biggest fitness chains, LA Fitness and Lifetime Fitness, are also close. Apartments - I believe they are around since 1980s, but they are very well maintained and updated. They did renovation of all the apartments during 2019. I have many friends of mine who are living or lived in other apartments in this area, and I have toured a lot of them, too. But Bishops Gate is the best by far in condition and cleanliness of the apartments. They do not stop working on landscape every season, too. You can notice how well the apartment complex is organized. They also worked on the roof last year. I cannot name other apartments around this area, but Bishops Gate is also spacious compared to others. Staff - I see some reviews stating problems with the staff. However, I never had any issue with all the staff members. They knew me by name, and Kim, Jenny, and Judy (now retired) were always helped me with any problem or question I had. They usually answer your e-mail within a few yours unless they are out of office. They are willing to help whatever the topic you have. They even helped me contact their corporate office when I was trying to use Plastiq with my rent payment. The maintenance staff, although I rarely saw them in person because they usually worked during my work hours, is also professional and helpful every time I had an issue. Your work is usually done by next day or two, and they categorize issues by priority so they can work on it right away if necessary. Facility - I have to add this because the pool is the cleanest and largest in Greater Cincinnati area. I couldn't find any other apartment with such a pool. You can enjoy the pool from late Spring to early Fall. It's not usually too crowded, and you can relax or swim whenever you want. I admit that it sometimes flooded with people during summer vacation or holiday, but nothing to worry about. And their gym is more than average apartment gym. They have about 8 cardio machines and several weightlifting machines. Unless you are a bodybuilder or power lifter, you can get most of your workouts here with 24-hour access. They have dumbbells weighting 65 lbs. You don't see that often in apartment gyms. They used to have up to 50 lbs, but they updated a couple years ago. I actually wrote we need more dumbbells in their annual survey - not sure that impacted, but it shows they care and listen to residents. Price - Honestly, it's not a cheap apartment. But you get more than what you pay for all the reasons I stated above. Other apartments around this area is either too expensive or too old. I think the price is about right. This apartment is rare combination of great location, facility, staff, and residents. No offense for Princeton School District. But since their school rating is low, there are hardly families with kids living here. We also decided to move because our daughter is ready to go to kindergarten. That means the residents are usually couples with no kids, retired, or singles. And that's why this community is quiet. I don't want to say it's a good thing or bad thing, but you can make your choice based on your needs. I do recommend this apartment to anyone moving to this area.
