  First, let me say that Margaret was great to work with. She helped us find and secure a home for a great deal! Once we got the financing figured out and closed on the house, the issues started. We put the new house on a parcel of land right next to our old house, so we were able to watch the whole process. From clearing land, setting the house, to the well drilling. Pretty much every contractor on the site was great. However, after setting the house, we had about a month of down time waiting to get the keys. (This is partially due to the county water inspection not passing repeatedly.) While we waited and stared at an empty house, Clayton was having people out to set up appliances and repair drywall issues, with zero communication with us. We would come home to find people working in the house, appliances lit up, and lights left on, and apparently they were addressing issues no one was telling us about. [Perhaps more communication is necessary when the client lives next door? I can see where it would be different if we lived further away and didn't see all the stuff going on.] We finally got the keys and after so many issues, Kevin, the manager of this location came out to "inspect" the house on day one. (This was in August 2025.) We looked at everything, made notes, and he was going to take our concerns back to the office to schedule repairs. Fast forward to November 2025, not one call from Clayton to schedule repairs. I called in about another issue and asked for an update on my repair list. As it turns out, this list was NEVER handed over to schedule repairs. I will add that a broken window piece repair was requested before we ever got the keys (July-ish) and it is still broken to this day. Because our repair list was never submitted, we got into the cold months during which many of our requests cannot be addressed (window caulking - thin or entirely missing, J-molding on front door, shingle concerns, foundation crack?). So here we are in January 2026 with NOTHING on the list repaired. In all fairness, they did finally schedule a repair day for one of the coldest days of the year, cold enough that only one thing could be repaired on the list, so I cancelled; we live an hour away. We've taken care of most of the cosmetic issues and caulking on the inside (Clayton really skimps on the caulking around windows and counter tops). Even when the settling around our septic dank was so bad that we could see the top of the tank and about a foot of one of the sides, WE ADDED MORE SAND/TOP SOIL because we have the means. Does everyone have a tractor/loader to fix this, because Clayton offered me nothing. Basically, I'm not convinced anyone at this location talks to one another. They have terrible communication issues with each other and clients. I have a hard time recommending anyone go through this location for a new home. (BUT, the Marion location is worse...).

  Really appreciated Jasmine showing me different homes. All the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Looking forward to buying my home.

  Stopped in to look at a few homes today. Was told we had to be escorted around. We have been to several other Clayton home locations and have never had to do this. It's too awkward to look at homes and making a decision with someone over your shoulder. Would have liked to look but I'll shop elsewhere.
