  This apartment complex is hands down one of the worst places I’ve ever lived. The property manager (Dee) and the owner (Bruno) are strange, unprofessional, and honestly seem a bit deranged. There are no security cameras anywhere, which means your car and personal property are not safe. On top of that, none of the buildings have proper locks—anyone can walk right in. Maintenance is basically nonexistent. If something breaks, it won’t get fixed. Mold is everywhere in the buildings, which is a serious health risk—you will get sick living here. What’s even worse is how residents are treated. If you’re Black or African American, don’t even bother. I’ve personally witnessed the blatant mistreatment, and it’s the most disgusting part of living here. The owner, Bruno, is an extremely elderly man who seems confused and out of touch, with no idea how to properly run a property. I cannot wait to move out of this nightmare of a place. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere.

  Nice location out skirting a suburban neighborhood in Gates. Lived here for a year while we worked on finding a house. A one bedroom apartment was extremely reasonable for what you got. The apartments themselves are fairly spacious, however kitchens are outdated. Laundry is coin operated in the basement, and there are 4 units to a building. Parking can be a nightmare, especially if your neighbors have friends over - if you park at the back of the lot your car can get trapped because idiots park their cars in a row straight across with no regard to others. In the winter, they do a great job of keeping the parking lots clear and are up around 4 am to begin snow removal. We didn't need to call maintenance ever except when our fridge broke and they got us one the next day. Security in the buildings could be better, the door we had did not shut well, and tenants left it open more often than not. Mail boxes were not lockable, and there was no deadbolt on our door. There was an extra charge to have a deadbolt installed. We did have issues with loud neighbors. For the most part its not too bad but a few bad eggs ruin the whole complex. The common thing was leaving car windows open and blasting music early in the morning during week days. Other times the neighbors below us were noisy at all hours of the night. There were a few times we had to call the cops to get the noise under control to get some sleep. Not the fault of the complex per-sey - however I think they could vett tenants a little better. Most are elderly, quiet families or young people saving for homes. The section we were in was younger and thus a little rowdier. NOT even remotely as ghetto as Greece Commons though. I do not believe they take section 8 or DSS. I also had an issue with my car being broken into - not the fault of the complex but it is an ongoing issue with Gates. Dee the manager was super sweet and very laid back. The rent is paid via cash or check with no online option and no auto-pay. They will definitely work with you on month-to-month when trying to buy a house if you are a good tenant and pay timely. It suited our needs - which was quick temporary housing that was cheap without the ghetto trash. They don't advertise the apartments so its mostly word of mouth which helps cut down on the riff-raff.
