This was the worst apartment experience I have ever had. When I moved in, my unit had clearly not been cleaned after the previous tenant. I found hair everywhere (including in the laundry detergent compartment and bathtub), nail clippings, peanuts, gum on the floor, and even a used tea bag left in the dishwasher. The kitchen was filthy, the microwave was broken, and the toilet was dirty and malfunctioned—using a large flush caused loud noises that lasted for nearly an hour. The kitchen drain smelled so bad that I had to wear a mask while cooking. I reported these issues, and management sent a cleaner, but she said this was “not her responsibility” and cleaned for only about 15 minutes. Management then closed my maintenance requests without resolving them, forcing me to deep-clean the entire unit myself. *Other ongoing problems included: *Smoky air coming through the vents (management closed requests without inspecting) *Hot water frequently unavailable in winter Severe mold contamination in the washing machine, which permanently discolored my laundry black after only a few washes (a handyman came once but did not fix it) I tried to endure these issues until the end of my lease. However, after a stranger attempted to break into my unit, I requested to break the lease for safety reasons. Management ignored me until I repeatedly followed up, then demanded a two-month penalty and forfeiture of my entire security deposit, without acknowledging any of their failures. I was also charged a cleaning fee despite the apartment never being properly cleaned to begin with. They refused to allow a mid-month move-out, so I had to pay rent for two additional unused weeks. As a foreign tenant (Japanese), I was unfamiliar with the small claims process and ultimately gave up and paid approximately $15,000 in penalties. The only positive experience was with the doormen, who were consistently kind and professional. Unfortunately, management was unresponsive, never answered calls, rarely replied to emails unless chased, and routinely closed service requests without action. Ironically, they respond publicly to Google reviews asking tenants to email—yet they do not respond to emails. Update: Thirteen months after my lease ended, Sky suddenly sent me a bill for $68.50 with no explanation, threatening to send my account to collections. I had fully paid my balance when I moved out and confirmed it was $0 before my resident account was revoked. They have not responded to my emails asking for clarification. Overall, this building felt unsafe and poorly managed. I would strongly caution others before renting here.

Had a scheduled tour. 15 minutes went by and the front desk gentleman said he started another tour. The other 1 * reviews from residents must be on to something. I’ll consider this one a dodged bullet and be grateful that I didn’t sign a lease with them.

Working with Richard Torres was an outstanding experience! He is super communicative and I ended up trusting him enough to sign for the place without seeing it in person, and I'm so glad I did! The studio is amazing, and I absolutely love everything about it. The move-in process was incredibly easy, and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

⚠️⚠️Worst apartment ever⚠️⚠️ No hot water for 3+ weeks despite all the complaints. Water often turns brown. Curtain tore off from day 1 and took 2 months to repair. Half of the elevators are under maintenance and often need to wait for next elevator. Extremely hot in the summer, extremely cold in the winter. AC is so dirty, makes you cough all the time. Management is nonexistent, non responsive.

It is truly unbelievable that in the middle of a freezing New York winter, a building that calls itself a “luxury” property has been unable to provide basic hot water for showers for three weeks. We have reported this issue to the management team multiple times, yet they keep dismissing it by blaming a “broken boiler,” without giving any clear repair timeline or offering any temporary solution. Under New York City law, landlords are required to provide tenants with a stable supply of hot water and basic habitability, especially during the winter months. However, this building has been hiding behind the excuse of a malfunctioning boiler while allowing the problem to persist, forcing residents to take cold showers in below-freezing temperatures. This blatant disregard for legal obligations and for tenants’ basic rights and dignity is extremely irresponsible.
