in short, the developer eagle rock is charging high end rates for exceedingly mediocre units. im renting one of the renovated units, and it has issues such as the water smelling like gasoline and hard minerals, the hvac doesnt reach the bedroom and struggles to maintain heat at 69, and something is up with ventilation where your apartment always smells like whatever your neighbors are cooking. you can tell the renovations were done as cheaply as possible with things like not leveling the floor before putting laminate down, there is a weird plastic paint on the bathroom tiles instead of replacing them, and the cabinets are painted over from the previous worn-out wood. all this is normal apartment stuff and you would expect to pay normal rent, but when they are taking over $1900 out of my account each month it really does not feel justified. you can get the same quality for less or better quality for the same price; the value just isnt there.

This place is the perfect example of looks too good to be true. I moved in with two of my friends back in may of 2025 and ever since, there is always some issue going on that takes too long to be resolved to begin there was a leak going on and you could see on the walls of the bathroom the water damage. So eventually maintenance comes in to attempt to fix the issue and they leave part of the wall and ceiling open and take a couple of weeks to patch the wall up and paint over it again. Then the laundry room downstairs starts to become flooded and it smells like a bunch of dirty bathroom water came up and there was enough water on the ground to cover the whole area at least half an inch high like a little rain puddle for a visual example. This was ongoing for a month and is just completely unacceptable now it didn’t really affect us because we have a washer and dryer in our apartment but right when you walked in it’s all you could smell and you could vaguely smell it in our living room from time to time. Then this next part is not necessarily on management but some tenants think it’s okay to just throw their garbage on the ground right outside the garbage bin itself as well as leaving the door unlocked to the garbage area and it’s not because the garbage is overflowing they are just lazy and weren’t raised correctly additionally there is a giant camera there so I don’t understand how this is still and ongoing problem for the better part of two months. Additionally I understand building maintenance is a necessity but there is a right way and a wrong way to go about it and this place goes the wrong way, now we work nights so we are sleeping for the better part of the day and the maintenance people bang on our front door yelling maintenance and then they let themselves in and continue to yell maintenance like is that really necessary and we have told them that they can just let themselves in and do what they need to do but still they bang on the door and yell each time and is completely ridiculous. As well as opening my roommates door while he is sleeping and asking him all these questions about when’s the last time he used the faucet and how much water did he use in the shower. By the way his room has nothing to do with a water leak so it makes no sense to go in there and then my other room mate is trying to get dressed and the maintenance person is forcing himself in the room almost while he is COMMUNICATING that he needs a minute before they come in his bedroom. Now imagine one of these persons was not an adult male and a female who sleeps nude or a kid sleeping to just go in someone’s bedroom with no warning is completely insane that’s why I always lock my bedroom door because I heard them trying to move the handle yelling maintenance. Then what threw me over the edge is I get an accusatory email saying I violated our lease by installing a lock on the door when in reality I used the chain lock that comes with the apartment itself I did not install a lock but yet I get accused of it as well as saying I denied the maintenance people entry which is another lie I got up opened the door left it open and went back in my bedroom and went to sleep I don’t need to hold someone’s hand and say hey come in just come in a do whatever you have to do.
