  I worked with Valley West Mortgage on my home purchase last September. I found them after comparing rates with a couple other lenders, and Kevin with Valley West agreed to match the best rate with an additional lender credit that ultimately made their offer the best one. Initially, everything in the process went fairly smoothly. However, that all changed about 1 week before closing. First, that lender credit that was agreed upon? That was mysteriously gone from the final closing disclosures. After confronting Kevin about it, he said I lied about the offers I had compared (which makes no sense as I directly showed him the actual loan disclosure documents from the other mortgage lenders) and refused to honor the previously agreed upon lender credit despite the obvious evidence I had in writing. When I asked him if he was willing to blow up the deal over this, he simply replied "yup." After contacting other lenders to try to get away from supporting Valley West after this poor business practice, I realized I would be stuck continuing with Valley West if I wanted to close on my house anywhere near the initially discussed closing date. That leads me to the next issue: the closing date. 3 days before closing, I received some communication from Valley West that led me to believe there were some documents being processed that would take until the following week to be finished, which hold up the closing. Based on this, I contacted Celeste (who was working with me on procuring said documents) and found out that they somehow had my closing date in their system as 8 DAYS LATER than the actual closing date. They never asked or communicated this date to me at any point before. To this day, I have no idea how they arrived at that date, as my closing date had already been set well before I had initially contacted their office. Regardless, this flub resulted in me having to contact my home insurance to change the move-in date to the correct one (which Valley West had changed with them without my knowledge or consent), and to contact the title company who informed me they were working closely on getting Valley West to clean up a number of errors in the documents including having entirely too much property tax taken out. All of this sounds like a 1-star review, right? Well ultimately, Valley West was able to crank it out and meet the original closing date successfully so I felt 2-stars was appropriate based on that. But would I ever recommend using them to anyone else as a mortgage lender? Not in a million years.

  The team was great to work with, even though I caught them in the middle vacation time! In spite of that, the only thing that slowed anything down was me. Highly recommend!

  Kevin and Brittany were the two agents who helped me during my loan process. Kevin went above and beyond. For example, my home insurance was astronomically high. He caught this and called me to advise me to shop around. He even looked for insurance rates as well for me. Brittany was patient and always had an answer to my questions. I would definitely recommend this company.

  Valley West contacted me by mail, and I reached out to Kavin. He explained our options for lowering our monthly payments through streamlining the refinancing process. He was invaluable throughout and made the process much easier and faster. I cannot thank him enough for his outstanding customer service and assistance.
