As soon as this government shut down ends I am reporting them to HUD and the Better Business Bureau. They flooded my apartment, closets, bedroom, kitchen, even countertops were soaked. They had me believe my upstairs neighbor left their sink on until I kept asking for their rental insurance policy. First they tried to tell me not to file and go through their lawyers which was super fishy to me and when I persistently asked for the ladies renters insurance policy they reluctantly told me it was a “freak accident” and it was their fault. Never offered to switch my unit. My ceiling is still leaking & this happened a week ago. My apartment is still damp and humid so I know mold is coming next. After going through there lawyers manager Dawn Duffy basically told me they are not responsible for any of my losses and NOW I should go through my renters insurance (a week later). Also not willing to give me a discount on rent or let me break my lease w/ out paying an extra fee. THEY FLOODED MY APARTMENT. The vinyl floor in the kitchen and bathroom is peeling up. 3 of my doors won’t close due to swelling. And before any of this even happened my apartment had a bad bug problem. I moved in and fruit flies were already in the sink and there were roaches and crickets. This place is awful and I cannot wait to get the government involved.
