I had a poor experience living here, and I’m glad I left. Overall, it isn’t a HORRIBLE place, but there are a few things you need to be mindful of before considering High Range Village.
Pros:
Decent location, next to parks, trails, restaurants, and a grocery store. Desert Hills Elementary is right across the street.
It offers a few amenities, like a fitness center, grills, and a pool.
Despite being next to a fairly busy road, traffic noise was never a problem.
Most units have been updated with more modern fixtures.
Cons:
Being across the street from an elementary school, the morning traffic makes it hard to enter and exit the complex.
While the pool is fine, the fitness center is the dinkiest little room that barely competes with a home gym. No one is getting ripped in this one.
The apartments are poorly designed, with almost no natural light in the central living area. There is a window in each bedroom, but for the rest of the place, only a sliding glass door under a roof. I needed to keep the lights on all day. If you want house plants in the main living area, forget it. On the other hand, at night, the outdoor light fixtures beam straight through the cheap blinds and fill your bedroom with fluorescent light. Plan on buying heavy drapes if you want it to be dark in your room.
The fixtures are very poor quality, with cabinets not shutting all the way and repairs half-heartedly slapped together. Work orders that should’ve taken a few minutes took weeks. After waiting for repairs for 2 weeks, the handyman finally came by and started to fix the handle on our bathroom drawers. We have no problem with him, he’s super friendly. He couldn’t finish the job, though, and left his screwdriver and screws in our bathroom for the next two weeks before returning and completing the job.
Anyways… while the staff is super friendly, the apartments themselves is what made my stay an awful one. I do not recommend.
